It just hit me: The Thin Man doesn’t seem to resist the interrogation, and the report that comes after it indicates it was surprisingly cooperative. In XCOM 2, we discover that the Thin Men are actually Vipers genetically modified to resemble Humans. Conclusion: the Thin Men resent what they had been turned into, and so seen no reason to protect those responsible.

Faustlican another reason why the Elders are so frail could be because they were born in that way, and had to develop Psionic abilities in order to survive. It explains why they’re so powerful Psionic wise, and why they’re so frail under their robes. Another one is that they’ve relied on their Psionic abilities to move them around and such for so long, their physical bodies actually started to wither and grow frail.

Here's what should have happened if you capture an EXALT. After the mission, you get orders from the Council to leave the unconscious operative behind. Gene-mods notwithstanding, EXALTs still have human rights. XCOM can't hold them prisoner without facing a huge political and legal headache. XCOM can't turn them over to the country of operation either, because that would mean admitting they're harbouring EXALT. So no EXALT captures or interrogations allowed.

irou95 Long War mod turn EXALT mission into a bit of a nightmare. Elite EXALT have serious firepower and genemods. Though there's one feature I didn't like: the extraction where your operative must hack 2 comms and escape: it arbitrarily limits you to 4 men. when 8-12 EXALTs heading for you, that's just fucking impossible. I mostly draw EXALT's attention to my squads in good cover while my operatives, with Concealment run as fast as possible, disabling EXALT's weapon in return. In this mod, it is implied that EXALT eventually work with the aliens, or mind controlled by them: you see aliens in EXALT missions, and EXALT in landed alien UFOs and terror mission (shooting their fellow men too). I was so sick of having to fight waves after waves of EXALTs with only 4 troops, so I made a lucky guess (it seems that site of mission typically generate intel that EXALT base is not in that country. Except for one time, in Mexico. And yes the base is indeed in Mexico). The EXALT base HQ is fucking nightmarish. My scout, in high cover, was squad sight shot in the face by EXALT sniper for 15 damage, killed instantly. Their commander, an uber heavy with 34 HP, had light them up HEAT ammo which killed my MEC in 2 shots.

Derpy Sandwich Longwar is ok i played it through once it's just too grindy and impossible if played with ironman (exalt base mission was the first time i had to restart like 10 times) i don't like to savescum just restart all over again (bronzeman mode) People say that it's acceptable to lose a couple of missions yeah that is true but you start losing 1-3 soldiers every mission because they start oneshotting you once the mutons start appearing with 10 hitting laser rifles and that slowly destroys your team and puts you in a situation where you can't respond to anything because only rookies and squaddies and colonel snipers.

Gotta wonder what goes on in the interrogation chamber. What do those dishes do?
@herobrinesapprentice4 жыл бұрын
"Although traditionally an interrogation would imply a discussion of sorts, perhaps under coercion, that possibility was out of the question given these unique circumstances. We were instead forced to undertake a more aggressive approach, namely, through a series of invasive cranial probes inserted into the subject's prefrontal cortex. By interpreting the captive's responses to various stimuli, we were able to discern a great deal of information." Taken from the report on the sectoid interrogation

I appreciate them bringing back all the classic monsters from the original UFO: Enemy Unknown, but I much prefer the classic designs. They felt more unique, these are some nice updates, but they feel more generic to me. Like you could see them in Mass Effect or Halo and not batt an eye.
@Aurora2097 Жыл бұрын
I agree! The firstbtwo games had a 7nique mix of actual ufo l8re, manga and 60ies horror movie aesthetics... The new versions are so typical modern scifi
@PlanetZoidstar Жыл бұрын
@@Aurora2097 Yeah, the old games really do give you that creepy pulp sci-fi feel, they felt classic while also unique. I'm also don't feel the new X-Com games are scary in the way the old games were, music goes a LONG way to give that sense of dread and creeping darkness. The new games seem to prioritise a sense of action and kinetic energy. The old games were more about setting a creepy tone and keeping you on the edge of your seat.

No. These are called Thin Men and funnily enough, their original form is literally a /snake/
