I really miss the way MIUI handled back gestures. Swipe either side for back, swipe and hold to switch to previous app. It would give you a little haptic buzz when you held long enough to move to app switching and the back icon would change to the app icon of the app it would take you to. I think OxygenOS may also have worked this way? They dropped that when Android built its own gesture navs. I never sure the bottom bar for app switching, it's too cumbersome in on handed use.

I still wish the back gesture was a swipe across the home bar. I don't like the swipe from the edge of the screen gesture. I accidentally do it too often in certain apps that still have pull menus or during gaming. Also how about a better way to organize apps in the app drawer. Would be nice to not have to use Nova launcher to create folders in my app drawer. But also thank you Nova haha.

The design changes in Android 12 were awful for every device except the 6 line-up. They over simplified, removed customisation features (right when Apple was adding them), and everyone who I've spoken to who has a pixel like me agrees. Android 11 looked & worked great on my Pixel 5, but with 12 I've had to use a custom launcher just to get it back to not being a bubble mess. It's deeply disappointing to see that no changes are going to be made to the design, and it pretty much guarantees that i'll stop buying pixel devices.

The newer design of the Android 12 us what made me buy my pixel 6. I guess it comes down to preference and I freaking love it. PS: I went from a sub $200 phone to a pixel
@kodaloid2 жыл бұрын
@@igauravpandey I don't disagree with this, the problem like I said though is that 12 looks like it was designed only for the pixel 6 lineup. If google is going to control the design on all android phones, designing only for their latest device is a very anti-android, apple way of going about it.
@igauravpandey2 жыл бұрын
@@kodaloid I haven't looked at other skins for Android 12. If customisation features had to be removed in other skins because of A12 then that's really bad decision. Customisation is at the essence of Android. Completely agree with you.

Agree but that would make people think that the button doesn't work. I wouldn't say a lot of people would long press on it to open a certain menu. Perhaps a tooltip while clicking on it multiple times would remedy this to a degree.

Long presses in android are for opening context menus, not activating the button. So it should be a tap to use, long press to open power settings. Making it a long press to just do standard power button things is contradictory to the ux language android has been establishing for a long time.
