Of those 2 extra plates, one is for the cannister light; the other is for securing the top of the weight pocket if you have to move it down the spine strap. The triangular 'd'-rings on the belt are for attaching to the loops on the bottom edges of the wing so you can tie it down to the belt and leave it rather than putting the traditional bungee across the stomach. And the rubber rings on the belt are for Ali 80s if you need to clip them off low. And yes he has got the lift figures mixed up. The Tec is 19kg.

If you can reliably get a bolt snap through those grommets you are a better man than I. Those grommets are primarily for attaching the butt pack, or a butt plate. The butt plate is for divers using a traditional Florida style sidemount with steel tanks hanging off the butt plate's bars. While those rubber o-rings on a slider are there for those diving Mexico style sidemount, with AL80s that need to be adjusted during the dive. I don't dive Mexico style but it seems consensus is that the best option is to replace whatever sliding system that your BC includes with the Dive Rite Ti sliding d-ring. Also there is another difference between the Tec and the Rec versions other than the side release buckles. The Rec version has a 13kg bladder, while the Tec version has a 19kg bladder.And that large bungee is for holding of the front of the cylinders, you have to rig that up yourself because there are different methods from one continuous bungee to two loop bungees, or you can rig up a ring bungee system.

Great points! I'm looking to buy my first SideMount system and there a lot to think! I'm still divide between the xdeep Stealth REC, the Halcyon Zero Gravity and the Hollis Katana 2.

@@MrFelipeHikari Ive been diving the Hollis katana 2 for six months and the only bad thing I can come up with it is is that its not black;) The x-deep looks better(personal taste). Having said that, I still think my Katana is awsome;)

@@joakimdiver1120 I've just bought the Katana 2 and already tested it in a local lake. Hehe Need a lot of fine tuning, but I loved it!

I've been diving Subgravity's sidemount harness, and it's a good one, but I wish I would have spent the extra cash and bought this one.

Hello. It might have been a good idea to present weight system with the bladder removed. Also, you did not mention sliding D ring. Just saying...

But should I get tec or Rec don't know if the bukkels are good or not
@galaktykaloki4 жыл бұрын
As per the manufacturer specification, there is a major difference between TEC, which has 19 kg buoyancy, and REC, which has only 13 kg buoyancy. Are they not different in size at all?

I'm also with the same doubt. I'm looking to buy primarily for recreational diving and some easy wreck someday. I'm not looking to carrying 8 cylinders....2 as 95% of my future dives and 3-4 at most for some deeper ones. And here in Brazil we use aluminum tanks. It is hard to know which one to buy. Also: is the harness compatible with the rest of the xdeep side systems?...still looking for updated info as well.

About the RB version, is it possible to remove one inflator hose when not needed? and dive the unit with only the main inflator hose?

As per the manufacturer website the REC bladder is 13kG lift. I am a bit confused if you can clarify please
