As a CoD player since OG Modern Warfare days, I’m having a lot of fun with XDefiant. I don’t think they’re aiming to be a CoD killer, nor will it ever be, but it doesn’t have to. Gamers tend to get bored of games quite quickly, they need something new, or have multiple games in rotation to enjoy them. XDefiant is one of those games to have in rotation. The best thing about this game is how a now casual gamer like myself can jump in and just get my fps fix in a few matches, without having to learn too much of the mechanics. I feel like the casual and old skool gamers will appreciate this. It is unfair to compare a free to play game with a small team to a AAA title that you pay a premium for just the base, as the AAA game will have much more to do, such as campaign, zombies, co-op, more multiplayer game modes, etc. I don’t see XDefiant going to that level, and I think that’s fine. It will be interesting to see what the player base will be like after season 1 and 2, currently it’s the honeymoon period so probably not fair to judge this game so early on, however I see a lot of potential with XDefiant. As long as Ubisoft doesn’t start pulling some corporate money-grabbing crap, XDefiant will only get better from here. It’s a new IP so it will have issues on release, but give it some time.

I was waiting for a sale to get it but disbanding lobbies, not showing deaths during match, voice chat bans on a rated M game, catering to fruity colorful rainbow pronoun delusion crowd, absolute DOFSHIT campaign, fake gun names, shit sound design, and of course SBMM in casual modes. Literally the opposite of what made golden era of COD incredible. At least MW19 you can tell a lot of effort and polish went into that game. MWIII caters to the unskilled but willing to spend. I'm loving it. It adds suck a massive skill gap since jumping interrupts your aim assist. You have to actually be a skilled player to win gun fights with no aim assist while jumping at the same time.

Eventually that's something that should die down as the game flourishes. Jumping in any shooting game where you don't have another kind of movement ability is just not effective way to take and give space in a firefight. It makes it easier to lead shots, and as players learn to shoot better it'll punish more jump happy players.

The last cod I enjoyed was BO3 which was one of my favorite cods actually. BO2 and MW3 were my childhood. I just simply couldn’t take it anymore after Cold War. Haven’t bought a single one since. I’ve been intrigued by this game, and excited the more I saw about it. I decided to download it yesterday and I actually had FUN. On a shooter. I thought I was bored of shooters but really I just hated cod. It just felt like a constant sweat fest. Granted I’m not as good as I used to be because I took like 3 years off to play single player games, but I still am having fucking fun. Great maps, good gunplay, NO SBMM. This game is refreshing man. Gotta take a break from Stellar Blade for a bit to run this up with the boys. Feeling like the old cod days with the squad.

Maps remind me of a mw2 x bo2 mix,guns are like in mw3(the old one),community isnt toxic(yet),the game can run on low end pcs(i have a gtx 1060),the gameplay is straightforward,the playlist is cool(wish it had teamdeathmatch,s&d),lobby times are a bit late to find for my taste but its okay,movement is great,spawns are a bit weird,some abilities need nerf but they are kinda okay,the level up system is okay cause at the end of the day its fun to grind,and the shop thing is diffrentiated from the rest of the game so its a big + for me.Ive been a huge activision,treyarch fan for a lot fo years but i havent felt a real cod game after mw3.Ive played bo3 bo4 bo5 but they dont just hit like bo1.I know it would be boring to continue doing the same style games but thats what i loved it for.Lobbies where fun especially if you had a mic.No report system.Cod had the monopoly for a lot of years cause there wasnt any fast shooter game like that.Its time to rethink its actions.Cause they may wanted the money but they played with our feelings,we all loved classic cod titles.Hope they change their minds now.Ill be playing XDefiant till that moment.

As an old school fps player this game is better than anything activision has produced since Black Ops 2, The movement is so silky. the map design and game modes are excellent and the simple hud and weapon customization is so much better. A pet hate of mine in cod is the guns have fake names and then you go to the muzzle attachment for example and there are fuckin' 50 to choose from but everyone only ever uses 2 or 3 of them so what's the point? cods ui gameplay and the eomm sucks and i also think XDefiant has potential to thrive in the competitive scene with no kill streak rewards a high kill count reflects skill a lot more and no prone means no snaking exploits. With a bit more polish on the netcode and hopefully more factions, maps and modes on the way this game has the potential to be an fps mainstay for years to come. Kudos Mark Rubin and the team.

They need to fix the abysmal netcode and hitreg, screen shake in this game is really bad too, and the red dot doesnt stay centered on some guns. Also nerf some of the abilities so people arent super reliant on them for a free kill lol.

Free kill? Sounds like a skill issue most of the abilities can be countered and the ultras are mostly a free kill or two but so they should be they are ultras. Let me put it this way would you rather fight against abilities you at least have the opportunity to counter or would you rather Killstreaks that continually kill you over and over as you spawn like cod? Do you want the skills nerfed so they are completely useless? Then there would be no point in having them i think they are balanced pretty well right now.

Beginners Playlist has sbmm. All the sweaty CoD players came over to Xdefiant. That's why it's so bad and sweaty. Once they get bored of the game and go back to CoD things will settle down. Give it atleast 2-3 weeks. They will unlock everything in the game and get bored and go back to CoD.

Competition brings innovation, so people not wanting COD to have competition can’t complain when COD puts out a $70 game with all old stuff. Old COD was good because they had competition from battlefield and rainbow 6 and other games.

XDefiant is the first Game in awhile that has released and I'm actually enjoying it. like before a game would come out, I'd play for a day or 2 and be over it like whatever. But with xdefiant I'm actually having a ton of fun and wanting to play more with my friends. It doesn't feel like a chore to get on and play when someone invites me to play!!

I’ve enjoyed the time I’ve played it, but my only complaint is that leveling up guns is BRUTALLY long winded. Seems they want you to purchase boosters really bad.

As someone who has been playing since the alpha I'm glad to see the game doing good. It was a bit rocky in the last beta but the game is smooth like butter now. Just a little bit of netcode problems here and there.

How does everyone feel about no kill streaks? On one hand I feel sad I can't work towards some crazy kill streaks and dominate but on the other hand because there is no kill streaks no one's camping working for a 7+ kill streak so it's so fast pace because no one's camping

I see where you're coming from. Competition is a good thing because it forces these game companies to give it their all instead of giving you crap. Without competition, there's no need for revamping and trying to be as serious which is why game titles that we get are usually crap and are not fun anymore because there's no motivation but when there's competition now the stakes are higher. It brings out the inner passion within them.

I’m still debating. After this double xp weekend I’m gonna decide if I wanna switch over completely from CoD. I know there’s no reason to choose between them, but if I’m gonna spend money on a game it’s gonna be the one game. And if I wanna buy cosmetics and bundles then I’ve gotta decide if CoD is worth it or xDefiant.

Give the game some more time to see how you feel and if you will still enjoy Xdefiant. COD has been out for ages, so if you have been playing it for a while you know you enjoy it. Xdefiant on the other hand has only been officially released for 4 days or so. I’d say give it a month and you’ll know forsure which franchise you prefer.

I wouldn't make any tutorials for the movement as of right now. I played the beta and there was movement penalties for your aim. It's not in the current build of the game for some reason but they might add it in later. I would wait a little longer if I were you

"Bhopping" in CoD and this game are not some crazy movement mechanic just hit the jump button. Ppl act like it's quake, old cs, or apex level or bhopping and movement that actually takes skill.

I said the same thing. MW3 2023 isn’t even that bad. People are just drained from COD. XDefiant bringing in a breathe of fresh air and it’s PRESEASON in a F2P title. I’m still getting used to the game and how fast it is but I’m having fun. I legit haven’t touched COD in 2 weeks. Gonna load up tonight and I have to sweat I’m getting on XDefiant cause at least it’s more fun than COD. I’ve ran into like 5-10 good people(like above me in skill level) in like 30-40 matches. It’s relaxing and sweaty, but fun.

I'm going to be honest I don't think that xdefiant is the cod killer just because there isn't enough content going on. No campaign or 3rd mode like zombies just not enough content to take over cod. However it's gonna provide some very healthy and much needed competition so cod will actually try to make a good fame after they see that people don't really care about the title they care about how fun the game they are playing is. Now if they do add more content like that then yeah Xdefiant over cod any day of the week. Cod got complacent as the top fps now theyre paying the price if they dont change they are finished.

Call of duty has a really big choice to make: COD should be free to play. With the amount of micro transactional content they have in the game and the fact that the gameplay itself changes very little they have no business charging 70 dollars for a game when there are games outperforming it and making more money being free to play

despite the servers breaking day 1, this game has been absolutely pure fun for me and clearly for many others. i think there are 2 things the devs need to focus on and get fixed by season 1, the netcode/hitreg and the progression. netcode is still iffy, and progression is too slow. other than that the game is excellent, the gameplay is so fun and FAST. finally a fast arcade shooter...
