Great stuff. Although I'm not using FL, but Cakewalk Sonar by Bandlab which has a very different handling, you show me much. When I build a track I first use a tempo which is definitely too slow. The last thing is then to adjust the tempo until I get the flow feel. So I might start at 80 bpm, in the end it will be around 108 - 128 for the song. The well adjusted tempo is crucial for the entire track.
