Are the effects working with an external souce ( line or phono )?

Yes. Since it features hardware FX, line and phono inputs will be affected, just like a DJM mixer.

Do the Beat FX Quick Access buttons work when you are using Serato too? And can you change the crossfader curve for this mixer in the setup menu or just the volume faders? Thank you.

The FX Bank works whether you are using DJ software like Serato or i you are playing standalone. It's part of the hardware and runs independently from the DJ software.

I'm looking for dedicated SAMPLER buttons on the XDJ-RX3 (as I had on the DDJ-400 and DDJ-RR). I don't need a laptop for SAMPLER on the RX3, do I? Also, how do I change the BeatJump to go up to 32, 64, or 128 on the XDJ-RX3? I feel like these could have easily been done and are completely missing. (Not to mention the channel 1/3 or channel 2/4 switching, like on the DDJ-RR -- also missing from the XDJ-RX3.) Thanks for your help!

Hello, great questions! Let’s tackle them one at a time. 1. The XDJ-RX3 in standalone does not have a sampler. That is a function of using DJ software like rekordbox or Serato. The DDJ-400 being a DJ controller, has access to this because it’s a dedicated DJ controller only. 2. There are a total of 2 beat jump modes. There is “Beat Jump” which is accessed when you click the Beat Jump pad mode button. There is “Beat Jump 2” when you click the same button while holding shift. The beat lengths you are looking for are in Beat Jump 2. 3. To access deck 3 or 4, this article covers it. Hi Guys, when plugged into rekordbox on my laptop, selecting channel 1 or channel 2 in beat fx doesnt work (it thinks they're channel 3 and 4, which dont exist). However, when playing music from my thumb-drive source, this is not an issue. Perhaps something in the Rekordbox software setup i can amend? thanks

Hello! The the XDJ-RX3 is configured for hardware beat FX built into the unit. So in order to use beat FX, it will be on the FX section to the right side of the mixer area.

The beat effects on the XDJ-RX3 are adapted directly from the DJM-900NXS2 which not have a low cut echo.
