dude these tutorials are fucking hella. I wish more youtubers new how to be like this. you never move to quickly and take time to explain why you do certain things but you also don't spend too much time dwelling on it and move onto the next interesting topic quickly. I love it

So I guess the real key in making future funk is you need to give the drums a nice colour. Got it!

Found this on WeeklyTracks! Hella good tutorial, dude. I've been a musician for years but using DAWs has always been a stretch for me. I really assimilated some dope knowledge from this, though. Keep it up, my dude.

What key do you hold at 2:35 to cut off/remove/drag in the selection? Because every time I do it it just stretches the samples & change its pitch.
@Elektric.Dreams8 жыл бұрын
There's a button on the top left corner of the playlist called stretch. when its toggled off you can cut off parts of the sample by dragging the edges of the sample. If your sample is stretching that means its toggled on. around 2:55 I briefly mentioned the button.
@miraie8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reply but I can't seem to find it on FL Studio 12 (?) sorry.
@Elektric.Dreams8 жыл бұрын
Theres a button on the top left of the playlist that looks like a bar with two circles. Its between a little keyboard and a wave symbol. Click on that.

Nice tutorial, would love more! Maybe where you did everything from ground up, instead of us seeing some parts speed up and samples already found. Still extremely good stuff, keep it going ^_^

Yo this was so good! I'm still pretty damn new to FL Studios, so I'm struggling quiet a bit sometimes. But after watching this, and learning alot of new shit, FL Studios feels a bit easier! So thanks for that man! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Pretty good tutorial but I'm pretty sure MACROSS also compressed the heck out of the sample and added lots of reverb too (along with lots of high EQ frequencies)

You can do effects and master volume automation in GarageBand now, so it's getting a little better.

I would like to see a dedicated video on filters.
@Elektric.Dreams8 жыл бұрын
Thats a good idea, but what exactly would you like to know about specifically? I can go over the different types of filters and how to obtain them but is there anything else?
@jedikye8 жыл бұрын
XElektricDreamsX What each filter effect accomplishes when mixing. As well as how to do each one.

why is it that people connect sailor moon with future funk? lol still enjoyed the video lots.

where did u find those kicks and crashes?im really new to fl studio and trying to learn.also when that guy sings did u find a seperate file only with the guys voice without music(how did u do that?)
@Elektric.Dreams6 жыл бұрын
I think they were a combination of Vengeance Essentials and some other drum packs. I didn't use an acapella, the section with the vocals was just another part of the sample that I blended in. The sample was Tatsuro Yamashita's "Merry Go Round" so check out the original track to hear the parts that I took.

I dont know how to properly stretch the sample to the tempo of the beat. Is there any particular way to do this? Stretching it along the playlist doesnt accurately get the tempo I need.
@dertyp___8 жыл бұрын
Just stretch a shorter clip of the sample. It's harder to stretch a longer sample than a shorter one.
@BackyardRonin7 жыл бұрын
does stretching the sample align it with the beats dead on?
@Elektric.Dreams7 жыл бұрын
Andrew Samonte sometimes it does but a lot of the times the recording can still be a little off. That's just human error from the original song itself.

Hi I am very new to this but want to make future funk muaic. I saw someone mentioning this was the 11th edition. Is there a particular version? Like I saw the 20th has the fruity, producers and so on. If I am getting the 20th edition which version would do you think would be sufficient?
@Elektric.Dreams5 жыл бұрын
20th edition will work just fine!

I've started the experiments by this tutorial in FL Studio without any DAW knowledge. This will be a rough ride for me, I know. Until now, I made some recutting projects in Vegas. (Yes, I mean Sony Vegas.) soundcloud.com/flippythefunkfreak/tracks (It's not for self-promoting, it's linked just for the proof.) I hope, I will become better and better continuously.
