Cubillas showed why Pélé said he would be his successor as the best number 10 in the football world. But at the peak of his carreer he decided to leave FC Porto for his boyhood peruvian club Alianza Lima when Barcelona and other giants were eager to hire him. But those were different times and mentalities and Cubillas chose to live a family life outside the blinding lights and he didn't regret it. Cubillas is a legend of Porto and has a special place on our hearts for we are so proud he wore our blue and white stripped colours.

Pele named about 20 different players as his 'successor'.

Scotland didn't play too badly in this game despite its reputation with the fans. Undone by two quite superb goals by Cubillas.
