I would have love to see more of Varia, she is such a beast in combat and could have been even better. Best Amazon ever that just took a bad desition in an impossible situation. SHE would have been the best sidekick for Xena

Najara was Xenas toughest mortal opponent ever. Even though there is fan speculation that she wasn't mortal and that's why she was able to communicate with the Jinn.

Najara and Hercules are the only two to my knowledge to ever outright beat her in a fight. Every other instance she's either outnumbered, not at 100%, someway blackmailed into losing or loses on purpose. There were very very few people to outright beat Xena from the time she was introduced in Legendary Journey to her death. Before her introduction she lost a few more times such as when Cyane beat her. However I'm not counting those times because she wasn't at the level of skill she was at in The Legendary Journey and beyond. Xena was one absolute beast of a fighter in that universe.
