Please check out the ending credits, after the producers cast they put some easter eggs on that part of "no animals where harmed". On that episode where Iolaus almost died by a scratch they put something like "just Iolaus was harmed, the bird guys lived a long and prosper life" 😂😂

Yeah, incest, tragedy and sacrifice all over Greek mythology. Perhaps my favourite line in all of Xena; "Oh no, no more living for YOU!"
