Anytime I start researching an emulator that I’m not familiar with this channel comes up. I really can’t say thanks enough for helping preserve gaming for me and others that are passionate for the genera. Video game companies act like it is extremely difficult to preserve their previous works or like no one cares yet we have so many people that devote precious time for almost no beneficial financial gain just to preserve something so enlightening it should be considered art. For the strong effort this channel has made to preserve gaming at the very least I have to take second to click the subscribe button.

It is really worth noting and disappointing it's not in the video, that you can decompress the ISOs into a folder, then run .XEX file. ISOs are usually 7-8GBs with games decompressing by anywhere by 10-90%

This was a good tutorial. Straight to the point, concise, & easy to follow. I wish all emulator setup tutorials were this good. I only picked up Xenia for 2 exclusives that, as a lifelong Playstation player (did consider upgrading from PS2 to XBox 360 after the PSN hack), wish I could play. Not the 1st time I've done that. I picked up Cemu just days before the Wii U online servers went offline, just to play Xenoblade Chronicles X. With how complicated modern console emulators are, it's good to see simply tutorials like these to answer any question people might have. Keep up the good work.

You seriously have some of the easiest to follow setup guides that work. No extra fluff! The only thing I would have liked to have seen is a little bit more test playing of different games. Xenia was notorious for not being able to run most games and I’m wondering if most of the 360 library is playable now.

Yeah, I gave up trying to use it a while back because almost every game froze, glitched or had serious issues. Especially multi-disk games.

I'm using the XENIA CANARY version on a mid range pc, and believe me I know that Xenia used to run very poorly but the on my PC xenia canary set on native 720p resolution runs very well. Most games have no issues running at their normal framerates with no slowdown...Yea you should def be using it in 2024. BTW it def runs smoother than the ps3 emulator also

man i love this guy, always helps i hope he never stop❤ i have a question, in both duckstation and ps2 emulator, you can change the games to be like a list, or to be like an icons and giving them picture cover. and that is really cool, cus when i open the emulator and see the big game picture instead of just a small game title, i feel like i can play. also in dolphin emulator. but in both xenia and projectM64(n64 emu) the games are just a titles, and when i open the emulators i rethink why did i opened it. is there any way to make the games in icons with image cover? or is there any other emulator that have it? ❤

Glad that I found this video! What's weird though is after installing Xenia master, I created that Portable.txt file then after opened the Xenia application. After I closed it, the config (TOML file) did not show. Even though most of what I did is exactly like yours. after the file was done downloading, I added it in my desktop folder then just transferred what was in the unzipped folder onto the Xenia master folder. I'm not sure what's going on, do you have some ideas? Thanks I'm trying to install an old Smackdown vs Raw (WWE) game that came out in 2009 also btw.

Appreciate the very simple and easy video but does anyone else have constant issues with the emulator? No matter what game I play, I have issues. Red Dead will crash after the first cutscene and Crackdown loads up but has a continuous load screen once you select a character.

For long term playability, is it better to use Master or Canary? I've noticed playing the same game with either creates different save files. Is there a way to use either Master or Canary on the same game save file to see any differences?

it actually doesn't have to be in iso. I installed a game onto a flash drive and transferred it into my PC. there's a few folders but the one you need to run the game is a data file. the game that I used is Red Dead Redemption.

ISO is just a Compressed version of all the game files just makes it easier to load the games now if you are burning CDs to play on a modded 360 you would want the raw game files like you have

If i save the game progress.. for example bully scholarship for me and quit the game.. after that i reopen the game to play, then I cant see any of my saves so they make me play it all over again.. how can i fix this?

Xenia won't let me play skate 3, it launches the game correctly but i can't get past the intro and get to actual gameplay, instead it just open an error window that says : Faulting thread name I am using a Lenovo Legion Go Handheld device with Windows 11 and Emudeck/emulationstation.
