during the 2020 wildfires in australia i was on vacation in a beach town with family and the fires were closing in, we were checking the state fire service twitter every 5 minutes to look for evacuation warnings. it got to a point where you could tell the fire was all around the town, maybe not close, but everywhere. it was 4pm but it was as dark as night time and the sky was blood red, it was the most scared ive ever been. luckily it didnt get any worse than that for us though

8:38 I think it looks so out of place because the combination of late night, the kid being right up close to the headlights, and camera hardware causing a different amount of contrast than our eyes are used to. Just extreme lighting causing stuff to look weird.

Those were pretty intense, wow. The last one especially, there's some pretty wild dashcam videos out of Russia. They became quite prevalent years ago in the wake of a slew of roadside fraud and other incidents. What really baffles me is how the psycho in the first video only got 2 years, WTF is that crap? He was stalking those two guys and brandishing an axe on the damn highway, nevermind all the ways that encounter could have ended so much worse. The thing with the kid was like something out of the Backroom movies too wth.

with those dudes with the baseball bats, if i noticed that, they're road kill to me, don't give a fuck got my dash cam to show they were clearly a threat to me. with those 2 guys driving through the woods, i generally stay calm under stressfull situations, so i'd figure something out if i know the area well enough, got taught to never panic under these circumstances as my chances are much higher if i can think clearly than going into a doomsday scenario of "what if the vehicle blows up dude!" the guy with the axe is ... special? kinda random, but atleast he totaled his own car before anything.
