Crackpot theory: Alvis wants the "Natural Order of the World," I.E. He wants to destroy Origin and allow the two worlds to annihilate each other. Z only wants to pause Origin and continue the Endless now, and Shulk/Rex wants to set Origin back into motion and allow the recreation of the worlds. Z teams up with Shulk/Rex only because Alvis is a common threat to either their goals, the enemy of my enemy and all that.

It's quite possible Lucky Seven was forged with the image of A's Monado in mind, and it's almost guaranteed it influenced the design of the Veiled sword, given that Riku saw that blade, and the off center hilt and crossguard are near perfect matches to A's Monado

Ok, I've just noticed something REALLY messed up with Nael footage. The figure she hugs seems very small, even compared to rather petite Nael. And we know from other clip and Nael description that she watches over the children. So this is very likely scene where one of the children dies. This event is probably one of key factors, if not THE key factor of her turning more nihilistic (her quotes are giving me heavy Amalthus vibes) And yes, we are getting second prequel DLC with child dying. Apparently Monolith Soft is making this a habit.

It would appear to be that way. There do appear to be many Noponic gods. The Archsage and all of his aides, the Halfsage, Napopon, Nipopon, Nopopon, Nupopon, the Seven Nopon (of which Riku is a member), Monopon, etc.

I got bored and really analyzed the weapons that interested me, and Glimmer's bow has the same color scheme as Pyras sword, but no green and a somewhat blade ish shape. A's Monado is mix of the monado 1, sword of the end, and the veiled sword. The blade is red with similar gaps to Monado 1, and when activated it opens slightly, and blue energy covers and extends the blade with slight triangular gaps still in the blade. The cross guard has a Monado hole, with a veiled sword guard. The hilt is a mix between the two sword of the ends, with red shapes on an angular black hilt. The hilt is off center, similar to veiled sword. Rex's swords are actually halves, with the right sword marching Pyras and the left matching Mythra. Pyra's looks normal for the most part, but Mythra's is missing half the blade and crossguard. The two blades can be combined to form the third sword, which appears the be miscolored compared to the original, but has a similar crossguard and energy. Don't care about the other ones lmao Correction: I care about the Monado REX, but it's not changed in any meaningful way

I think it's Future Redeemed because of the way the endless now works; when the main game ends we see time seemingly reset with the worlds separate, so the events of XC3 essentially happen within a brief moment in time. My original theory was that this would happen around the story of XC3 as both a prequel and sequel but them having the tattoos and flame clocks being back kinda confuses me a bit. Given that we see Z in a clip maybe this happens before the endless now but after the invention of flame clocks and terms

The only real mystery of the “when” is caused by shulk and Rex’s presence. Otherwise the timeline lines up with the existing xb3 lore. The first city was built super far in to the endless now. And the war with moebius as well as the kevesi agnian conflict was already in full swing. Remember that n stated that his deal with z was that he would make mio in to m in exchange for destroying the city. By then z had witnessed an uncountable number of mio and Noah’s die fighting him. So yeah. The two protags are the only thing making this weird, but it’s also awesome.

Can’t wait to play as Shulk and Rex, and I’m in love with Glimmer and Matthew’s designs too. I’m really interested in the combo attack thing on the left of the arts pallette. Having just started playing Crisis Core, it reminds me of the limit break attacks in that game. I do wonder though: Shulk and Rex are meant to have students that become Reid and Cassini. Will we see them? I think we’ve already seen Reid (the girl who looks like Sharla and is carrying a big weapon like Reyn) but who’s Cassini gonna be? And does this mean Shulk and Rex will be replaced by these other 2 towards the end of the game?

Regarding A, I'd just like to note that this is the single letter not showing up in the base game as a Moebius name. Perhaps she is the only part of Alvis that was not taken over by Z. This can also tie into the biblical beginning (A) and end (Z) from the Book of Revelations if both A and Z are parts of Alvis, who is essentially the only remaining component of the Trinity Processor.

Nice video analysis Enel! I wanted to briefly touch on Riku, and my theory with him. It's nothing crazy, but basically Riku was around before the worlds merged just like Shulk and Rex. And if Shulk and Rex don't age because of them being outside the system of Aionios, then that could explain why Riku hasn't aged either. And maybe Riku was there when Z took over Origin and helped in making the lucky 7 swords. That could explain why he seems to know Melia too. Cause he was actually there. So in a way, Riku is just a common nopon. Just one that originally belonged to the XC1 world before Aionios. I could be completely wrong about this, but hopefully it makes sense in the actual DLC lol

Nael’s outfit at the end with the Alvis core crystal reminds me of Fiora’s outfit when she had Meyneth’s soul within her. Nael’s outfit looks to have a similar chest piece to how Meyneth was attached to Fiora. Maybe Nael’s dies at one point and Alvis gives her his life force or his monado is keeping her alive like Meyneth’s monado kept Fiora’s body functioning, who knows?

I can see Rex's swords not actually being Pyra and Mythra's (and Pneuma's), but rather replicas based on the Aegis swords, similar to Shulk's Replica Monado. Also, obvious takes from Vandham aside, I am loving the Zeke parallels, both in his new appearance, but also the missing eye mirroring Zeke's eyepatch. Plus, as someone else mentioned, his new swords are apparently named the Swords of Blazing Light. Which, let's be real... If Zeke himself didn't come up with that name, it was definitely inspired by his dramatic flair :P That said, I'm SUPER interested in seeing where this all goes with Alvis (and the Trinity Processor). He's the last character I would have expected to become a major antagonist, since he was always more of a... passive enabler, I suppose? Guiding Shulk along and kinda doing his own thing, unbeknownst to literally everyone lol But the craziest part is Z being alongside Shulk and Rex in that one scene! "Bro thinks he's on the team" got me. xD But my best guess is that Alvis, or whoever this actually is at this point, is attempting to do a full reset for some reason. And the only reason I can think of off the top of my head is that the two worlds were changed in the end by Shulk and Rex (with Alvis lending a hand to Shulk as Ontos with his side) to worlds where people have the freedom to live, in one way or another. A world where the conclusion isn't chosen for them. And Z's Aionios is the antithesis of this. So Alvis (or maybe simply Ontos) is just like nah, bro. Let's try this again lol Either way, I am fucking STOKED for this! And for the upcoming character guides and whatnot :P Let's gooooooooo!!

Did some digging into Na'el's name due to Matthew being a pretty obvious biblical reference and I wasn't able to find the reference Enel mentioned, but something else. Apparently, Nael means "God gives" in Hebrew, which would be a nice parallel to Matthew's meaning. Don't know if it was intentional, but the japanese spelling (ナエル naeru) can mean to lose strenght, to become weak, but also more interestingly a colloqiual term to become demotivated, feeling disappointed. Which seems to tie in nicely with what seems to be her character arc with her becoming numb due to all the people dying around her.

My bet is that the masked figure with the monado circles at the end is some sort of weird moebius fusion between A and Na'el. I think in the battle with Shulk, Rex, Z, and Alvis, Alvis lost, but instead of dying half of his power made it into A and perhaps A is either willingly or unconsciously seeking the other half, which may or may not be within Na'el. However, Na'el's, ahem, nihilism brings up bad memories of Amalthus and Malos as well. Maybe Na'el fuses with A to gain access to the Ontos power to bring about her wishes? Even the names can mix, A and Na'el become Annihil, short for Annihilation?

Did you guys watch the trailer for the 3rd wave? In that trailer Shulk still have his arm and Rex still have his eyes. So when we connected to future redeem trailer when Shulk, Rex and Z confront Alvis that mean that is in the past and maybe it is the opening scene for future redeem. Maybe in those fight between them Alvis lost and became " A" like in Future Redeem, after Alvis lost both of them realise the true nature of Z and both of them ended up fighting Z until Future Redeem. Rex duel wielding could be either Vandham or Morag, actually, or even both. I mean, both were exceptional fighters, and they both used duel-wielded blades. I would totally buy that he just figured "Well I got Pyra's sword... and Mythra's sword... And y'know, both Vandham and Morag wield two swords at once... So I'm gonna do that, too!"

I think that Alvis splitting his powers is a very interesting theory, and has some direct parallels to what happened when Klaus broke the universe. In this case, Alvis seems to be a parallel to Zanza while A parallels The Architect for example. Even the way that Na'el seems to have been taken over by the Ontos core parallels how Zanza's Soul would take over anyone that touched the Monado.

I'm only a new Japanese learner so I may be missing something, but the kanji for "fire" and "light" together (火光, literally "firelight") is pronounced "kakou," not "kagiroi." "Ka" is the main reading of "fire" but "light" is normally read as "hika," "hikari" or "kou." Maybe there's a more obscure reading I know, or I'm using the wrong kanji, but I don't see how kagiroi could be a reading of fire & light. Jisho doesn't recognise kagiroi as a word, but that may just mean it's a pun. Edit: found it. “Kagiroi” is an archaic reading of “陽炎,” spelled with a characters meaning “sun” (normally spelled with 日) and “flame or breeze.” It means “daybreak” or “heat haze” and isn’t used anymore

Okay, but what if Z is a newly created Logos core using remnants of tech from the World Tree, Morytha and maybe Artifices? Like, both Malos and Z have purple energy around them, both of their final boss fights are similar (Aion and the floating head), and all cores on humanoid Moebius armour are reminiscent of Malos’ core. Also, showing a complete processor can’t be an unconnected thing? What if Z is to origin what the Trinity is to the Conduit? Also, it’s not unrealistic for a new processor to be created because new slabs of core crystal make up Origin’s interior, and Poppi and Lila exist, run by their own AI, effectively making them processors, but instead of being true living blades powered by the conduit, they’re powered by ether. Also, it’s possible that Moebius being a collective unconscious is tied to Origin metal being forged from materials tied to the Processors; anything World Tree or Artifice or Core Crystal related was made using the technological advancements brought about by the Conduit’s power. As is the Mechonis wreckage through Meyneth, the Bionis through Zanza, and both through Klaus. The conduit may be gone, but it’s not unrealistic for certain things to be able to mimick the power. It’s all ether. All of this is connected to the Conduit/Zohar, which is connected to the collective unconscious, basically confirming Moebius as Gnosis, but they’re able to act as intelligent beings through core crystals and processing. Core crystals were initially replacements for brain cells after all, and on top of this they recycle the life of the genetic materials within. All that gives Moebius their trademark is all of time being stopped, and I can only imagine that being possible if Origin is a giant Monado, and Z is its respective Processor, allowing him to govern time through ether calculations, kind of like a super powerful vision

I just realised something, when Shulk and Rex first meet Alvis in this DLC, Shulk is using the Monado in his right hand, and Rex still has his left eye. Could it be that during their fight with Alvis (if they do fight him), Shulk lost his right arm and Rex lost his left eye during that battle?

I wonder if we'll see some other Moebius; that scene where Nia talks about Moebius has a bunch of Consuls next to X, Y and Z that are not seen at all - presumably killed. It would be strange if C, J, S etc. literally only existed for a fraction of Z's time with no predecessor Consuls. Y also talks of the Moebius who died when you go to Colony Omega, likely more than just those who Noah's lot killed. And it appears to be Y fusing the two Ferronises.

The class menu in the base game has one spot left blank, including the two post game classes and the two DLC ones. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the classes from this DLC was added into the main game as an unlockable for beating it. Also love how my friends and I all screamed from the hype of Rex saying his lines. We were literally like “HE SAID THE THING!!!”

I think the reason they released it early is because they know Tears of the Kingdom is gonna dominate the Shop for a while, most likely they would have to wait for another year, I think it was smart for them to release it before TotK This Riku we see is either actually really old, or its an ancestor of Riku that coincidentally looks exactly like him

I find it hilarious how it's possible to argue that nearly every single party member has a Monado of some form. Rex's replica Aegis swords; Shulk's Monado REX; A's sword which is just called "Monado"; Matthew's Ouroborus Knuckles which have strong similarities to Lucky Seven, which itself was very Monado-esque; and then if Glimmer's Blade is based on the weapon she would've had on Alrest, then it would effectively have been her very own Monado. Only one I don't have any claim for is Nikol.

Prediction. Seeing as Rex's daughter has a name that is a combo of fire and light, and is shown to have a flame clock. I suspect that this is a reincarnation and because of how the system works (live die reborn) im thinking it's actually the souls of both Pyras and Mythras kids as one being. Would explain why there is only one child and not 2 at least.

It's surreal to think N stabbed his own son through the heart, killing him. It never really struck me when it was revealed that N destroyed the city, but now we have a cutscene of it happening. Damn.

One thing I would like to point out Enel: I think the development teams knows that everybody knows this is Alvis. The question is, despite this, why would they leave his name as ? There has to be a deliberate reason for this. The page also mentions his face is familiar to Shulk but it seems there's a hesitation there...

I think Alvis gets split in half, A is one half, and Na’el will eventually find and merge with the other half.

My guess about the Na'el bit is that her flesh eater core crystal doesn't get "replaced" or swapped out. The Alvis crystal seems more like it's attached to the armor she's wearing at the end of the trailer, rather than attached to herself in any way. So perhaps she's gone full on Iron Man post Iron Man 3 where the suit has its own power source rather than the chest core, thus having two separate cores; her own and the armor.

My speculation is that Matthew’s Ouroboros Gauntlets have a similar power to the eggs, in granting the power of Ouroboros. It gives off a big green glow when he slams the ground between Glimmer and Nikol, similar to the big green glow that appears when Guernica slams the button on the egg between the main 6 of the original game.
