Because of the destruction Mythra had caused in the aegis war, Pyra, a persona that was much weaker than Mythra in both caracter and power, was created by her out of guilt and grief of her actions. She created Pyra just so she could hide behind her cause she was too affraid of losing control and unleashing her destructive power once again. That's all I can remember from the storyline... Although Pyra was created by Mythra and they're using the same body, they are not one, but they're connected. They do become one though, when they merge into their ultimate form (AKA the green super saiyan lady). Hope that helped c:

@derpguy109 *SPOILER* The short answer is Yes. They're alive. At the end of the game, Mythra sacrificed herself at the world tree to save their world and to buy some time just so Rex and the others could escape. Before she did that, she gave up her half of her core crystal to Rex, cause she knew she was going to die anyway. That way, Rex could regenerate his heart and live without having to rely on her core anymore (and since she did that, she didnt have much longer to live herself, cause a blade cannot survive without its core, but since she was one of the Aegis', she had some time before she disappeared). After that, her core was in Rex's hand, without it's shine, like it lost all the life inside of it. When they escaped, everyone thought that Mythra and Pyra died, but their core crystal started shining and then both Mythra and Pyra obtained a physical form... aaaand well... last but not least, Rex is reunited with his love (the one that the player chose). We knew from the base story line that blades cannot die, cause even if their core is destroyed, they regenerate. Sooo we kinda knew she was comming back but it was sad nonetheless... There are one or two times when they're fine but outside of important moments, which suggests to me he had no idea what is character's expression was, how loud or what emotional infliction he was meant to give. I wouldnt be surprised if he was sat in an empty recording studio with a script saying as little as "Rex: '(Shouting) Join me!"

Y'know, if you close your eyes during the conversation between Rex and Pyra/Mythra, Rex's voice acting actually sounds spot-on (minus, well, _that_ one line). It's the ridiculous character animations that let this scene down. Rex's VA understood the emotion of this scene _way_ better than the cutscene director.

I don't mind Rex's voice acting in normal scenes but some shots kinda stood out like a sore thumb (seriously, Rex doesn't seemed to be yelling at the end judging by the animation). Like you said, it could be the character animations that were exaggerated (which is kinda common with that anime art style) or doesn't fit the voice and the lip synching doesn't match up well which is common with games localized from Japan. At least the VA understands the emotion of the scene.

Actually according to Pyra they are now joined together through the crystal but if either of them are killed they both die because they share their injuries in the exact spots they were hit essentially making Pyra half mortal but Rex was only able to unlock Pnuema due to the fact that Mythra was afraid of her own power after the war in Torna 500 years before the story so when Rex got to her and basically told them that he trusts her to use her power in control that gave her the confidence to transform so technically you are correct it wasn't love or friendship it was Trust

The v is lowercase Nu & The u is lowercase Upsilion. So the Name denoted is Pnema. In Order: Pi Nu Epsilon Upsilon Micro Alpha :)

I feel like the voice acting here is really hood if you just listen to it. It’s more that it doesn’t match the animation. Obviously the “JOIN ME” needs some work but it’s still better than people realize. I feel it fits as Rex being this silly young kid who’s trying to be this epic hero, but is still just a kid.

I've never played a game of this beloved franchise Xenoblade, but what I can gather here, it seems this Rex guy is some sort of virgin robot protecting his waifus from Blackius chadicus. But once he affirm his waifus are worth it, his waifus form into an ultimate waifu and protect him instead. Seems like a very emotional scene I recommend 2x speed

Laffy OK, you actually nailed it, your description is spot on. I don't know if you're usigg the word robot metaphorically or literally but it's true either way from a certain POV. Up to this point in the story, he STILL didn't express his love towards them. He didn't have the balls to tell them how he feels when literally everyone else, even the woman who raised her, straight up knows that (he' s constantly in denial about his feelings towards his big Boobies white gf's). As for his waifus, they're sisters and blackius chadicus is their brother and their fighting because... Complex reasons. Anway Rex does indeed proclaim his love and his waifus do the same and they bless his ar.se by protecting him as you said
