This track really captures a sense of how ancient and mysterious the world of Xenogears was. It just kept going deeper and deeper; every time you thought you'd figured out your place in it, the game grabbed you by the wrist and leaped into a new abyss to show you what was down there.

And, as the story zoomed out, so did the camera. At the beginning, character sprites take up a good portion of the screen and Weltall's model is too big to fit in the frame. By the end, the gears themselves are tiny sprites exploring immense ruins of ancient technology.

​@@darkline64​ such an absolutely killer finish. Always saw the deus system as a false god. A warped unfeeling construct - manmade imperfect incomplete version that isnt supposed to exist.. More someones idea of what a "god" would be if given form. I think when the final destination becomes clear and that you intend to defy and reject someone else's monstrous idea and forge your own way in spite of the odds is probably one of the finest finishing moments put to disc.

I beat this game in the early days of Jan 2024, my god this has got to be such a great complex story ever told during it's time, even with the time constraints, I hail it as one of the greats.

Mitsuda is king. This song has so much power in it. Love the bass, it's probably a feature from him, and here is arguably one of his best work.

I honestly believe this sound track id his best work. These remixes, while being a bit more into his experience as a composer, prove just what he would have been capable of given more time and budget for it. It may be, just like the game, an unfinished masterpiece, but it is still certainly a masterpiece nonetheless.

If they ever decide to remaster/remake or at least port Xenogears to modern consoles/PC, they ABSOLUTELY need to add this song as an optional track to Babel Tower and the final dunegon, Merkava.

Call me crazy, but I think this is a rip of my old physical copy I had of this album that my friend made an uploaded to Napster. A while ago, he mentioned that this version sounded a lot like the rip that he made, and I'm fairly certain I've heard that glitch hundreds of times listening to my CD.

Those are the sounds of bad ripping. I'm sure that this uploader got this track from websites like bluelaguna or ffdream, old sites that offered ripped tracks of Squaresoft game soundtracks for download.
