Such great characters in this game and an amazing plot in general. Hammer is a good guy but weak and afraid. He does the unthinkable due to his own cowardice and lack of power. Much of the game deals with power and lack thereof and how it affects people. Grahf (Lacan) and Fei for example both struggle with this. While they both have power, Grahf lusts for it and Fei shuns violence and is an unwilling warrior at first. Bart also chases power in order to reclaim his rightful throne and is jealous of Fei's power. Citan seals away his past and true power in search of peace but is forced to unsheathe (literally and figuratively) his power in order to fight against the enemy. Maria views Siebzehn as a cursed weapon yet one she relies on for its power. One could go on and on about the themes in this game, from religion to psychology and all the rest.

Also this literally interprets the ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY. People may have come from the stars or other planets. ZEBOIM civilization was advanced and after thousands of years people lost all the technology and started over and only just realised about technological past of humanity through excavating which the Ethos was keeping secret only for Gebler and those Nazis in Solaris.

This one was ahead of it's time. Truly the best RPG I could have ever played. Wish they would remaster it for the next generation consoles.

Yeah, the poor dude had been downtrodden and made to be less than his whole life despite trying to have an upbeat attitude about it all. So he fell to the temptation to actually be strong for once. But through it all he was still sorry for what he did and had respect for his former comrades. When he says "Haha that's my Bro!" When you beat him after his transformation I really felt bad.

Yeah, especially within battles I think the movements look insanely good considering the game's 22 years old. The way the moves fluidly transfer to one another with just a small gap to emphasize the power of each strike ia really satisfying to me.

Lol Bart's Deathblow 'Angel', did he really just floats in the air by flapping his hands? I don't think I ever use that Deathblow when I played the game back in the day. I just thought that was funny.

I honestly didn't know much about the death blows the first few runs until later on. Most have infinity death blows (Level 4 Hypermode) which I experimented with later on. NECESSARY TO BEAT final bosses without trouble.

is there any real reason not to use Doc and Bart? Billy joins you relatively late, as does Emeralda. Ricardo is so slow that he is borderline unplayable.

Billy has a useful heal-all spell. Citan can do that too, but it requires a two turn set up; so when you need to use it, somebody could already be dead.

Because he was an extremely weak minded character that thought he was not at the level of anyone in the group. He was convinced by Krelian to betray the group. The reward for this would have been immense power.
