wooooaaahhh, i saw this game when I was a 6 years child, there in the 1995 more or less. The Alien supplier was horrible and I suffered some nightmares with him... since then I couldn't know anymore about this game... the music was so unforgetteable in my mind, sounds a little like the pitfighter pc speaker...

This brings back so many good memories from my childhood, my uncles left an old PC at my grandma's before getting married and they instaled this game just for me to play whenever we went visiting her and I used to play it a lot while mom and grandma prepared lunch. Miss those days.

I got my first PC in 2003. 20 year anniversary about 1 month ago. I feel so old. It was preinstalled with everything you needed. Among the big boys like Return to Castle Wolfenstein (I always saw a review for that game on TV and wanted to play it. Loved it), Empire Earth, Unreal Tournament and Hitman 2 there was also Xenon 2. And a bunch of other old DOS games. I remember Duke Nukem 1 and 2, Cosmo, Asteroids, Bio Menace, Jill of the Jungle and Battle City (THE tank game, had to look up the name of this one). They were all burried after a bunch of subfolders without a desktop shortcut. I'm sure there are many others I can't remember. They were awesome games.

Xenon 2000 PCF was a free 1st level of a PC remake by the Bitmap Brothers. 20 years ago though, so by no means modern.

@@P5BDeluxeWiFi True, but remember the version I played was on an IBM-PC Compatible with 8088 processor, in 1990 if I remember correctly. So anything less old would have been modern ^^

Exelent ! , im play in my XT 8088 Hercules monitor ambar and finished too , im use it now in my IBM 5150 but too slow , in my 386dx40mhz play too fast i think ,great video and a lots of memories

3:42 This is something that emulators can't really emulate I played this game on an XT back then, and I fully remember when you collect a "Z" powerup the whole screen would flash yellow for a second and a half or so, it was cool. Emulators just kills everything on screen and nothing else

1992 : I play on my computer PC AT 286 - 16 Mhz, 1 Mb RAM, 40 Mb hard drive, Hercules graphic card, monochrome monitor. Fast speed. My friend have PC XT - 8 Mhz, 640 Kb RAM, 10 Mb hard drive, CGA graphic card, monochrome monitor. But slow. Verry funny slow speed. Great envy.

I remember that one-shot kill glitch in the powered up rear Drone. Looks like this applies to all copies of this game. It’s hilarious tiny white pixel from that little thing can actually take out bosses in one hit.

It would happen differently one year after, when the Amiga would lack of colors, memory, fast CPU and enough sound voices also to get decent conversions of PC games (Wing Commander, Dune, King Quest V, Monkey Island 2, etc.). Amiga deceased a few years after also.

In 1991 for.my 10th birthday my 10 school friends gathered around and watched my 16 year old der brother complete this in black and white before he got the SVGA card. Suppose it was a 286. Even tho b+w it was essentially a pretty cool enough a thing for us to watch as entertainment , and to see arcade machine level graphics in a house just must have been a wow factor too. Amigas weren't installed in many houses in Ireland 1989/1990 I can tell that! Rich families who didn't mind spoiling their kids like my next door neighbour.. Holy shit they were electronics supplier millionaires and had the most powerful Amiga with basically arcade games in a room somewhere in their house. Slotting blue 3.5 inch discs into the side of the keyboard inbuilt drive on the *very* rare occasion my friends older brother who ran the whole show wasn't around. We were dutiful PC people working their way up the ladder , the older brother over there just got top end on the end of a golden stick and the guys on the other side of us had a Spectrum with cassettes. There's PlayStations on every corner now!. Ahh dems were indeed.

Hey I noticed when configuring the keys for this game, that there's a button which makes the ship "dive," but when I press it nothing happens. What's it supposed to be used for and what's supposed to happen?

If I remember correctly, in the last levels there is a "weapon" called "dive" available in the store. Maybe they are related... If you find out, spread the word :)

@@doraz77 will do. I'm not good at the game, but there's an infinite life cheat on the dos version. I could try activating that, speeding thru until I can buy the dive weapon, and then see what happens

@@ReCharredSigh The "dive" powerup is first available in the shop between level 2 and 3 (after defeating the spider boss), for 4000 credits. It lets your ship go in the background for about ten seconds upon activation, dodging everything for that duration. Personally it was the reverse situation: as a kid I noticed this powerup but didnt know about the dive key so bought it for nothing.
