I like how this is someone people remember because it's actually good advice for when you need to breach a room and take it over. You want to get clear of the door as soon as possible and you want to establish dominance over the corners as soon as possible.

Tip: Check by turning only 45° to each side so you only consume 3 instead of 5 tu to quick check rooms mind positioning and you can scout way more for less tu Looks like little but just might save soldiers on surprises

Something I've actually been experimenting with is to heavily use smoke and gas masks so you can freely run in with shotguns through the smoke. It works great on base raids and more enclosed maps but its god awful in open terrain lol

Interesting strategy, with enough shields to eat fire the assaults can act quite unbothered on many situations for close quarters executions, dont try baiting Sentry guns later on like this tho, it wouldn't be great lol

I don't think simply going back and sticking to "Bastion" is a bad idea. Makes sense if the previous Latin America base was poorly located as we can say it was temporary until Bastion was reclaimed.

You should actively bait fire on shields a bit more during battles it is tricky to learn to do but crouching everyone but shields is sometimes enough to make rushing enemies burst fire your shield instead of your low health soldiers Trying to let your shields end the turn in a slightly more front position is also good so they waste fire and risk pistol OW on them, you should always not risk much tho you dont want you shield being shot by 4 xenos at the same time and from many directions, mind the fact that the shield will take fire from all front and front side angles.

If you're going to be using SMGs, I wonder if a class using SMGs and demolition charges would be useful, with the idea of being used to clear sightlines for snipers and make convenient new doors in places. The Xenonauts are not liable for property damage.

Call them combat engineers. Maybe load them up with spare ammo/grenades for longer missions too. Could be interesting design space if the devs lean into it. Opens up another support role.

31:13 Pagliacci. i thought it will be nice to name your mars unit again dagger, or even spear. but i been playing Balatro lately. so in the honor of naming things after something inspired me from games I played recently (Trepang2 was the last one). i always thought the sad opera clown to be neat and they turned out to be called Pagliacci (opera play name). what you won't guess what that mean. clown! and based on the shenanigans our mars units give us last campaign. being the ultimate trolling machine. i think the name fit them. (yeah yeah Pagliacci name of the "Italian opera")

I forget this all the time, and with the accuracy debuff for being hurt. You can heal some damamge in battle with the med kit. might be worth a turn of setup before breaching. Whoops, just after I typed that, you healed up. Silly mid video comments. :)
