Xenoverse 2 Countdown: Custom Character Transformations

With XV2 coming out soon I thought it would be a good time to share my thoughts and opinions on various aspects of the game that have been revealed. First up we have the custom character transformations.

1:26 In Xenoverse 1, if you played as a Frieza Race and fought Cell in a PQ, he would say "I have all the data I need on the Frost Demons" or something like that. I think Frost Demons is a pretty cool name for them.

There are werewolves and wolf men in Dragon Ball cannon. And these are transformations humans can use. Before you say you need the full moon, Roshi used hypnosis to force Wolfman to revert to human form and saiyans invented the powerball to simulate a full moons glow.

I like the Cloudstick, tough I would have liked something like an actual transformation as well! I mean, we had a Wereman, a Wolf that turns into a human at Full Moon, in original Dragonball! So why not giving humans the ability to transform into some kind of animal form by recreating Vegetas artificial Moon? That would be totally awesome, and potential of a moveset Change during transformation, because of CLaws/Tooths that get added etc =D

The worst part about the Human Transformation is there is so many better options. Tien has the multiple arms he used against Kid Goku, Master Roshi has that overly buff form when they first showed us the Kamehameha wave, and of course the 2 you mentioned. Plus, as I recall, there was also the ability to split themselves into 2, I believe Krillin and Piccolo used it against the Saiyans in, well, the Saiyan Saga. But let's be honest, at least what we got is better than them putting the Great Saiyaman outfit on.

I could do something on story. Wouldnt be the story of the game though, as I havent played it, but one some of the features they have announced for the story.

I think they should have let you customize your regular buu and the also let customize your kid buu so when you transform it doesn't just come out losing all the changes

Buu: Okay, my suggestion for improving their transformation. Well, I'm the signature things about them is that they should off steam, why not have it be steam From! After all, they're supposed to be the heavy defense race, so make it where their transformation spelled on the design that melee attacks do little damage and energy attacks do damage! [And people complain how difficult it is to do it for graphics, they just showed us Nimbus. It's not that hard! Just put Nimbus make a few little tweaks to the model on making the head. The color of their body form, make it look like the clothes on top of the clouds and done!] Human: Okay, I have two theories costumes/android! The first one makes sense since android is not being used as a race make a transformation, who knows maybe adding the feature that I would really like which is customized transformation design would be really useful on the humans! Which I keep arguing would be a great feature. I mean you are doing. Create a character, why don't you have created your transformation as well! Which comes with the second option! We see the superhero costumes come into play a lot, and still designing your own super costume could come in handy.

Gohan is half human obviously but hes also half saiyan hence he can go ssj. Can you think of a transformation to give pure humans? Potential unlock and kiaoken can be used by anyone it wont feel like a unique power up. The only pure human to transform is Roshi's full power and I doubt ppl would want their female humans to look like a cheep lssj. Great video though.

Omega I love your videos but you do realize Ultimate Form (which is titled Unlock Potential in the game for some reason) was in xenoverse as DLC... if you get the resurrection f pack and train with Elder Kai he will let you go through the ritual... and in this game it was usable by every race... that's why humans got what they got: they already used Ultimate Form and gave it to every race ps I hate the human transformation too and if I make one it will just have Ultimate

The thing about Unlock Potential is that, like Kaio-ken, it was a Universal transformation that could be used with any race, so if it's back in the game, I'm not sure how it's going to work in Xenoverse 2. Granted, Earthlings benefited the most from the transformation in the first game (No Ki drain, and with the right Z Soul, you could get a HUGE stat buff and speed boost).

The nice thing about making a new game is not everything has to work the same. You could just as easily made Mystic a human only thing in XV2.

But then people would've complained that it's Human exclusive when it wasn't in Xenoverse 1. There's really no justification to make it Earthling exclusive.

ehh Ima have to agree with omega here. Fuck it, just make unlocked potential a human only transformation, maybe have ki color change and spiky hair with it, kinda like gohan mystic form where the hair looks like ssj2 but no color change.

Well clearly that's not happening, regardless of how you guys feel about it. Nimbus and Power Pole are here to stay. Unlock Potential will probably be an Unlockable alternate transformation for all races.

I feel like I'm like 1 of 5 people who actually care about spiky hair in ssj forms(when necessary), any hair like trunks and broly in base form should look like it's supposed to in ssj forms. not sure why it wasn't in xenoverse 1, UT got it right, why can't xenoverse get that right. just feel like alot of fans don't care about ssj being done correctly when it totally can be.

I havent seen anything in XV2 that would show one way or the other how the hair works. The character they have shown using SSj has pretty spiky hair already and the rest just use SSj3 which gives you SSj3 Goku hair. Maybe it will change, maybe it wont. Just going to need to wait on that one.

Yeah, they should get Mystic. Maybe when you play as a human in the story you visit Supreme Kai to help you get stronger and you get it.

Personally, i still think Budokai 3 pulled the whole "transformation" thing off best in terms of source references. Stuff like "Hidden Potential" or "Namekian Fusion" offered a lot of potential. Why not use it here ? Saiyans have a pretty linear path, no issues here. Friezas race...where to start. For instance, i never got why Frieza never achieved the same 5th form his brother did. Simply going for the golden paintjob for custom chars is not only cheap, but it also demystifies the whole golden frieza nonsense. I'd much rather see the "normal" tier grogression. Majin: Why has no one thought about using the random character generator here ? Start transformation, generate a random char to absorb, then generate a random form for your transformation based on that. You know, just like super boo... Same with Namekians. I love that they finally remembered that super namekians are a thing though. But why not generate a random namek character for a fusion cutscene to give an extra boost ? For humans, i actually like the power pole to an extend, since there isnt that much to work with visually. I still think Budokais approach with "Hidden Potential" was more on point. Other than that, why not base it around Hidden Potential - Popos training - Kaios training ? Visually, you could work with the aura color and intensity and demote the nimbus "form" to a kaioken or something.

Humans should've gotten Roshi's bulky form, or even the elder kai or Guru's potential unlock. As for Buus... yeah, while I understand the concept (Kid Buu is the original form of buu, and thus allows the "diluted" buus to access their "full" power), it doesn't keep any customization option....

Tyree Washington Well, not only Roshi. Cell did it to mock Trunks, who used it (or something similar) in his USSJ form. BUT it would still have been better IMO. Its at least more of a transformation than... a stick and a cloud

i still think the buus' transformation is weakest, for the humans, yes it's not exactly a transformation, but it's as if they are given more diersity, the power pole could give them good range in their physical attacks and i think it would be a cool touch to have flying at fast speeds not drain stamina like that, it would make sense

The Majin transformation is lazy, but at least there's some logic to it. The human one is just bizarre. Why not make an 'enlightened' or 'god' transformation? These games are already Filler City. There's plenty of real world legends and myths to work off of for humans. If you're more serious about characterization and roleplaying, your potentially evil human character can somehow ride a nimbus...

It could be awkward to put in. They also seem against buff female characters and this is beyond buff. I am not against it, and I feel bad for forgetting to include it on my list, but it could be awkward to implement. The only change we have seen that effects the character model that much is the Buu transformation and it has a set model to change into. Here it would only increase parts of the character. Depending on how the model changed it could have been fun though.

everything after BT3 was just dissapointing, badly executed and just plain old sad...i don´t know why they don't just make a BT4 with all the things that made BT3 great (big ass character rooster, amazing gameplay, kickass ultimates) and then add more content (character creation and customization, an original and a classic storyline). i'm guessing the bar after BT3 was just too damn high...oh and bring back B3's planet explosions...that's the only thing taht was missing in the BT series.

Burst Limit had really dumb gameplay choices made by Namco. besides droping a huge chunk of the roster of the previous game(BT3), that ridiculous split screen gimmick when a beam attack connected was just...ridiculous. and Ultimate Tenkaishi was just a buffed up rock paper scizors game.
