Hi Marion. Thanks for the video. Did you ever get round to reposting the original comparison video you mentioned at the beginning of this one?

Hi Marion Thank you for the video. We are a property developer and currently using Sage50 with project codes. We buy land, install services and then build individual homes we then sell. Each development therefore has two sides: 1) The overall development cost of the land (We track +- 20 expenses relating to the development of land per development) 2) The building cost per home (We use one tracking code per home but we build a lot of homes) I really want to switch to Xero but the tracking codes are limited to 100 and we need considerably more than that. What add-on would you recommend we look at? I do not want to budget or account for each little item that goes into a house. We have a very accurate budget per house and we chuck all the expenses incurred on that project (house) against that project. We seldom deviate much from our budget but if we do I will analyse the detail of the project account. Any advice will be helpful. Kind regards

I’m not experienced enough in add-ons to know if there’s anything that would work for you. You might be able to get Tracking to work for you with a bit of tweaking. But it would require a conversation rather than a few comments here. You can send me an email - its marion@xuacademy.com

Hi Madam, your videos are always excellent, watched almost all videos you have posted and subscribed the channel to get any alerts when you post new because i love to watch them, it's giving more confidence. My name is Gigin George, working as a senior manager finance for an Irish entity who has other subsidiary entities in UK as well. It's an ed-tech focused entity where media production and software developments are the key revenue resources. Based on this video explanation I feel like the best suitable option is xero project, but when it comes to the reporting purpose I can't simply ignore the tracking. Little confused now. Anyways, i am gonna test both and see, beside i would like to get in touch with you over an email or call to talk further when xero can afford the larger project accounting where more employees are engaging ( around 200 employees). Thanks. Gigin George

Hi Marion, Great video, thanks very much. I have a question for my business. We are a property management company for short term rentals. Our business is partly furnishing, partly management and partly cleaning for these short term rentals. We currently use Xero with the tracking feature, but I'm curious to whether the projects feature would suit better (for the furnishings side of things). We generally produce a fixed quote to prepare the property and then the property moves into our management book under tracking. However due to large upfront costs of furnishings, sometimes this makes the figures look bizarre for a while. What would you suggest?

Hi Darren, This sound like a specific rather than general query. Why don't you head over to the contact form on my website, send me a message and we can converse specifics via email. It's www.xuacademy.com/contact
