No just no. Comcast sucks! When I’m playing a game (Xbox,PS4, etc.) I always get discounted in game. I have to restart it Atleast 10 times a day. I have to get a new box twice a month. Yesterday when I was on Xbox I got disconnected 20 times in 2 hours. Today I was on PS4 and got disconnected 2 times in 2 minutes. This happens everyday. I had calling them everyday to see what the problem is. My house isn’t big so I don’t know why it does that. Even on my iPhone xs max gets disconnected from it. Any ideas what I can do to fix it? I’m at the end of my rope!

What about restoring a dropped dial tone for voice connection. I got the newer router about 2-3 weeks ago (TG4482A) ,lost dial tone a couple days ago, and have done numerous resets, including a hard reset to no avail. Never had so much trouble with the old style Arris TG1682G XB3, I think I did a soft reset on it twice in 4-5 years.

I tried everything I could. I thought the video would help but no offense man it didn’t. Not your fault though. My internet was working completely fine all day yesterday, then when I woke up I found that it wasn’t working. All the lights are working on the box but the Wifi light. I read on some forums that if u press the restart button on the back then hold it for 30sec it essentially does a hard reset. I ended up trying it and my network finally showed up, for about 10sec then went away again... does anyone know how to fix it?

Call your ISP to see what they recommend. Either you have a bad line that they need to diagnose/fix or you need to factory reset or replace your router. If you own the router and not sure how to do this then contact the manufacturer for help or google it.

The title to this video should be how to login to your Network Configuration /Change password and broadcasting label (wifi name that pops up when wifi is available) lol while I do appreciate your effort and video I just find the title hilarious even though I guess you direct people to where they could troubleshoot things but for the most part nowadays if someone's having a problem it's usually something simple I can't tell you how many times when I was doing work for DIRECTV up in New England the amount of times people would call in for A problem they were having and it was some thing like the cable line not plugged into the box or the power cord not plugged in which yes it does happen way more than you would think or even the simple not paying the bill and people thinking that when they pay for their service installation and their first month or whatever that they don't ever have to pay again it Wi-Fi it's just a one pay and done type thing people thought that a lot but you know we all make mistakes and we're human that's why we need each other and videos like this help even though never mind

Probably having issues cause coaxial is shared with the entire block of housing slowing down speeds and sometimes no internet. Better to have a DSL connection which is your own not shared connection.

I’m having trouble w my xfinity internet. I keep dropping bars wen I play Xbox(Playing via Ethernet).. Can’t even livestream on twitch anymore... So I moved my xfinity modem to a different part of my house. I plugged it into the coax and did not get the ONLINE to come on, but everything else was blinking. I made sure all my lines were connected to the main feed, especially the coax outlet that I was plugging into and made sure the coax and coax cable was active and they are. What am I doing wrong?

Blinking US/DS typically means a problem or break in the line/coaxial cable. This could be anywhere from inside your home to miles away. Better off calling your ISP to let them run some test.

yea, but the actual issue may very well be outside of the modem itself. It could be damaged cable, bad splitter, bad signal readings coming from tap, and multiple other problems. Therefore changing the modem itself might not always solve the problem. I am actually Comcast tech, so i can help out :)

I know this comment was from forever ago but I’ve gotten the modem and cables replaced and the internet still drops for at least an hour everyday. No comcast tech can seem to fix it. Which is also annoying because there is no number where you can reach them. You have to go through their app and fight with a robot for 10 minutes before a tech will talk with you and they just take you through the same troubleshooting steps I’ve been through a million times that do not work. I switched from Comcast to DirecTV about 6 months ago. I just recently bought the Xfinity prepaid internet today and it's already activated and ready to go. Even the customer service guy I called said it was good. Now, the DS light is blinking and the "online" light is not on. He says it has to be on in order to connect. The wifi light is on and I can see from my phone the wifi which is strong. But after I enter the PW it says "no internet connection " The guy said that the "outside cables" were strong and to connect the cable to the direct TV cable coming from my wall. Which was the same cable connected to my Comcast box before AND my current DirecTV box.. But still, no online light. That's the only cable/outlet in the apartment. It goes through my wall out the window and down to the ground floor (3 floors). Idk what else to do but my issue is this: The cs rep even said the connection was strong, the people at the store looked up the address and said it was "good and ready to go". So any idea what I am missing??? I have a technician coming out in 3 days, but I have a weird feeling that it's going to be something simple that I can fix right now. Anyone have any advice? I'm kind of desperate here. Thanks!!

I would suggest getting a computer hooked up to that modem/router. via wifi or ethernet cable. (You're still able to connect to network even things don't have internet established), once you do so, open up a web browser and try to go to google.com (yes I know no internet) but it should direct you towards Xfinity home page, and basically this is the welcome page that should help that internet get activated. Hopefully this helps.

Code Xual Thanks for such a quick reply. Yeah, I just tried that and it doesn't even connect to the Xfinity network. I know what you're talking about tho. It does that on my PS4 when I try to connect to Xfinity. Anyway, my main issue is that, as I said before, my cable/satellite network is currently DirecTV. My ONLY cable in my apt. is not coming from an outlet, but a cable that goes from my living room, out the window and downstairs 3 floors. I even checked that out, outside and it just goes to the satellite dish on the garage. Anyway, my problem is that the CS rep told me that all connections were strong, including outside cables. AND on top of that, he said that the DirecTV cable should work fine for my Xfinity internet. It does not, obviously. But like I was saying, my big issue with that is that my DirecTV works perfectly fine. So it's quite obvious that that particular cable is just fine. I do have data on my phone (obviously) to use, but still Xfinity support has not been helpful at all. Just claiming an outside cable issue. Which I definitely call bullshit on. I think that's probably their default excuse to tell people when they can't answer shit. And from the hour and a half I spent talking to 2 different reps, they don't know shit. As you can see I'm quite pissed off about this. Mainly because both the store clerk at Boost and the CS rep told me I was in a working spot and that I would be all set. And now suddenly I need a tech to come out? All I know is I'm not paying them shit for the tech.

AlphaDeltaXray My EXACT problem. I have DirectTv. And Xfinity prepaid. The US/DS light is blinking and the ONLINE light has yet to even come on. Only Power and Wifi lights are always on.

The ONLINE light on the modem was dead and the US/DS light was flashing when it’s supposed to be solid. I called Xfinity twice and was told I needed a tech to come out. I decided to just check my cables and they were loose. I tightened them and the Internet is working again

My issue was no wifi. Search 10.0.0.1 in your address bar (connected through wifi or ethernet cord to modem) chang your 2.4ghz and 5ghz to different names
