When you define your Polar, you need to set your Moment Ref. Location. Typically you can take this at the 1/4 chord of the wing.

So if I understand your question, you're wanting some dihedral/polyhedral in order to give the effect that your wing is round? I don't believe Xflr will make a curved wing, but you might be able to get close by adding some dihedral/polyhedral at small increments

@@juliamaia8177 I found out a way to do this. Just below the options bar you will have the Airfoil name and a drop down menu like T1_Re0.500.......This drop down list is your current Reynolds number selection. Select the desired Re Number and then go to Direct Foil Analysis tab on the right side of your window. You will see color option at the bottom. Double click and select the colour you want to be displayed on the graph. Do this for different Reynolds Number.

Hey Daniel, Does XFLR5 measure the pitching moment about the 1/4 chord? because the results should be '0' for symmetric aerofoils until stall occurs? but the results are showing negative pitching moments for symmetric aerofoils. Very confused mate.

Hi there, when I click on the airfoil database wing profile plots, it does not download it, it opens the points on the webpage. I am running xflr5 on a mac, I tried to copy the points into some kind of notepad but xflr5 won't open it. does anybody know how to get around this problem? Thanks, Sacha.

I've tried to model the winglets as a double vertical fin and compared it to a wing without the winglets... unfortunately the wing including winglets had horrible data that was unusable

Open up the .dat file of the airfoil you want, and put a negative (-) sign in front of the "Y" values. This will mirror all the points and give you an inverted airfoil. I did this for one of my projects, and it worked great.

Right click the foil you want, then hit "Save Link As..." You might need to open it in a text file an remove anything that isn't coordinates if you are getting stray lines or points in the graph.
