@ett His name wasn't Bowie so I doubt he ever referred to him as Bowie (David Robert Jones is Bowies real name) at any point during their friendship. That'd be like David referring to Ricky as "Brent". That aside I don't think they were friends yet when this was recorded. I know I've heard somewhere Ricky talking about how he's been pronouncing it wrong his whole life after they got to know each other. Pretty sure it comes in later XFM episodes. This is still early in Rickys career. In season 1 of the XFM shows they had barely finished receiving their rewards for the first season of "The Office". He was fresh into the whole fame thing at this point.

Quite a few of the band names they make fun of actually had some success. Not sure if that was before, during or after this though. I spent most of my 20's when this was new discovering 50's-70's music and didn't pay much attention to what was happening on the charts. But I've certainly heard of Chumbawumba, Jimmy Eat World and Dandy Warhols. Not sure how much of a career they had but they were at the very least one hit wonders.

How does Karl's theory about the Bermuda triangle work? If an earthquake happens in the sea you'd have to be directly over the fissure to be affected by the released methane (in which case the tsunami would probably be the more immediate concern); so much methane the density of the sea would become un-buoyant? Meaning, so much methane would have to be released to, in effect, aerate a 5 mile depth of sea water, and keep it aerated long enough to drown you / sink the vessel?

I agree, there's an amateurish vibe to the shows but I wouldn't have it any other way. Smooth, well produced shows are samey and boring as hell. Plus with these three you get a cozy feeling, love how they just go with the flow, don't try to impress you, they feel relatable. The banter, the stories, Karl's insane ideas, the awful (in a good way) half-assed "features", I love that they're not even trying and they come up with so much fun stuff.

Do you think you would have any issues about eating fruit from a tree that was grown using human compost?

I have been thinking about this a lot. I mean there are a lot of circumstances, but I guess so. I want to be composted to become one with the Earth as it seems to me the most natural of options. I would make one hell of a fruit tree and would want people to enjoy whatever grows because of me. 🤪 How about you?

If I did not know that's how it was grown I'd probly eat the fruit and not notice any difference, but if I did know I am not sure I would be able to eat it even though there is probly nothing wrong with it. Always thought I was more a cremate and scatter sort of person but now I might try and help a little more life in the world after my demise if possible
