I don't know about "something nasty", Doug's views and actions seem kind of point blank if you asked me. If you're stuck up on the "imagery" then that's your fault

Fractured/Image fair, but there are lots of people hung up on the imagery for dubious reasons. I’m not trying to “cancel” anybody.

I apologize if I came off being a twat, it's just that for almost 40 years the same argument about the "imagery" always comes up despite the fact Dougs words and actions are in complete opposite of what the symbols stand for. If anything I like to think he coopted them and gave them new meaning
