We went to San Francisco and XG is undefeated and the best! They can sing, dance, rap, beautiful, kind, and humble! What more can u ask for? They are even better in person than their videos!!❤❤❤❤

I was in the music industry for several years. Yes, other people can cover songs. They just have to get permission/licensing, and the artist they cover gets small agreed upon percentage. Often, the artist will let their song be performed for free, but it can't be played in it's original form unless the original artist is paid through ASCAP or BMI, which are agencies that keep track of music being played or performed on platforms, and pays the artists every 3 months based on how many plays or performances that song got.

I'm just so upset they release Howling after the NYC concert. 😭😭😭😭Concert was freaking amazing. I was stunned how well they sang while doing these intense choreo. 🐺🐺🐺

regarding fees to original artists in live performance covers, the rights are covered under PRO's (performance rights organization) that the venue pays. a cut of the money goes to songwriters and publishers. so my guess is that this fee is baked into whatever contract price is made with the venue.

2:40 couple of us were just talking about the covers on tour the other day. They do have to license the sample, but it's a theatrical license we think, which is pretty cheap considering. Maybe a couple hundred bucks per performance. TPain actually talked about this, how he'd rather give the artist for a sample 100% of his song's revenue, cuz he'll be making 60K a night on tour performing it, and they'll get pennies compared.

I went to the concert in Grand Prairie I can say they are fantastic performers. The whole concert was so good.

Yes, you can do any cover you want on concert. Nothing is free in the world of course. A small Fee % of the concert is given to the artist/musician. Song writer etc. to the song they cover.

Hi, glad you’re enjoying the ride with XG. Just a bit of info, they do a complete show before the actual show to learn the stage. Some groups do a fansign which you pay a lot extra for and XG’s “walk by” was probably the same costing quite a bit more. I’d like to have seen them also but it seems a lot of K-Pop bands don’t come to Detroit. I did get to see Monsta X in 2022, that was awesome. Enjoy-Cheers!

I don't think you need licensing for stage performance because it isn't monetized and distributed. People do it all the time. Like Linkin Park covering Adele. if it was recorded and distributed, then it becomes a licensing issue

No need to get approvals for covers. People do it all the time, unless you release a single/album/music video.
