Yes all seven can rap, sing and dance. All seven members are fully all-rounders and on their current world tour every member has a small solo set

Technically XG is NOT a K-Pop group. But it is very close. They call themselves X-Pop and define themselves as a 'global girl group'. How I like to put it, XG is Japan's answer to the success of K-Pop and Korean groups in general. When 3rd generation K-Pop (2012-2018) was able to penetrate international markets and K-Pop groups started to have international members, Japan said, if Korea can do it, so can we, and Avex - a large Entertainment agency from Tokyo - has established XGALX in 2017 as a subsidiary label company, with CEO Simon Jakops, who is a Korean-Japanese singer-songwriter former boy band member and producer. Simon was actually born in Seattle - Washington to a Japanese Mother and Korean Father, was raised in Korea and he IS the mastermind behind XG. He is sometimes referred to as the 8th - hidden - member of XG. His music is heavily inspired by old school American music and culture. This track was also produced by Simon. What this whole thing means to XG: XG was formed from the X-GALAXY project. The name stands for eXtraordinary Girls. XG is a 7 member Global Girlgroup with 7 Japanese members (Ok, Hinata is Japanese-Korean and Harvey is Japanese-Australian) but all members were born in Japan. However they were training for a period of 5 years (2017- end of 2021) using the Korean K-Pop training system and were travelling back and forth between Korea and Japan. They are based in Japan, but promote in Korea while all their songs are fully in English. All of them can speak at least these three languages to some extent and it is really crazy when they mix three languages in their rap tapes - sometimes even within one sentence... Their music is heavily inspired by old school hip-hop and R&B as it is visible on this track as well with the heavy rap verses on a real old-school beat combined with an R&B chorus. From the 7 members 4 are more on the rapper end of the spectrum (in this track both rap sections were actually performed by 4-4 rappers but not trivial to spot when they switch the rapper) and 3 are more on the vocalist side, but they are all super versatile, they are really good dancers and together they are like a professional dance crew. Their primary concept is an Alien Wolf concept that can sound weird at first but actually makes sense: The Alien aspect (X-GALAXY Project) comes from them as outsiders infiltrating and invading K-Pop with a new concept coming from a different country, and it is depicted in their tracks as they are aliens from another planet trying to blend in or just simply overtaking the old and bringing in something new, something refreshing. In this track they both invade and infiltrate, fight and get rid of the old system and bring rejuvenation (nature takes over). Their wolf concept comes from the fandom name: Alphaz, pack leaders. Pack is used as an analogy of them and us the fans working together like wolfs. Where XG is really different to K-Pop groups is they are not afraid to go against traditional K-Pop elements. They even explicitly say 'want to break the idol stereotypes' Like when they openly break beauty standards when Cocona shaves her hair in an M/V. They do not use the Korean language in their tracks etc. And finally they have probably the strongest rap line out of any girl group on the planet. Their raps - especially their tapes - can go super deep with complex schemes, wordplays, double/triple entendre. And they are humble and pay homage to their inspiration regularly be it imagery or lyrical. Just in this track there are multiple Michael Jackson references, Hunger Games, Princess Mononoke, Matrix, Notorious B.I.G. just to name some obvious and all of it embedded into an alien wolf invasion.... I hope this puts XG and their music into context and happy further exploration!
