XGのお母さん世代です。 1990年代から2000年頃の平成時代に、渋谷の女子高生達が「ギャル文化」を作って日本で社会現象になったんです。当時のギャル達が聴いていた音楽は安室奈美恵とｔｒｆなど、avex所属のアーティスト達でした。音楽はユーロビートがベースのダンスミュージックでした。歌詞は強気で無敵な女の子のイメージ。 XGはavexのオーディションを経て誕生したグループで、彼女たちはavexと彼女たちのお母さん世代、かつて平成ギャルだった人達の遺伝子を継いでいます。その子達が宇宙人のような恰好で渋谷に戻って来たというシチュエーションと音楽に込められたギャルのスピリットが、お母さん世代にはたまらなく懐かしくて嬉しいのです。平成ギャルの遺伝子を感じるMVです。

1990年代から2000年頃の平成のギャル文化について言及してくれている方がいますが、まさに私はその世代でクラスに３人以上確実にギャルがいました。彼女たちを見ていると本当に懐かしい気持ちになります。マヤの履いているルーズソックス、ジュリンの南国の花の髪飾り、厚底ブーツ、ところどころに当時ギャルに憧れた中高生が愛したアイテムがスタイリングに散りばめられています。毎回思うのですがXGのスタイリストさんは神です！！当時はスクールバックにハイビスカスや南国風の花飾りをつけるのが本当に流行っていました（笑）懐かしさと喜びを同時に感じながら彼女たちの活躍を祈っています！

I love how they created a lore with their videos and they stick to it. While Woke Up was obviously related to GRL GVNG, this video is connected to both New Dance videos and TGIF. You have the fashion sense of TGIF, you have the aliens trying to fit in and look normal and them communicating with each other like the Multiverse New Dance video, and Juria has her teleporting powers as in the regular New Dance video. And if you put XG's songs on a scale where one end is vocal/R&B (Winter Without You, Left Right) and the other end rap (X-Gene, Woke Up) this song falls in between house club of TGIF and just club of New Dance

JAKOPS is such a visionary genius that we never know what we’re getting but it’s always Incredibly fun and exciting. Yeh, many sections are hilarious and I laughed too. If you love this, you will like FEMM. They're kinda a senior to xg, their music is more like electropop/rap. The group image is also really unique, I remember they introduce themselves as mannequin duo and they also rap in english. The song honestly a bit repetitive to me, but the visual is killing as always
