XG KILLED THIS. Simon released a transcript of who is doing what. Cocona mainly handles the low register with harvey . Jurin the mids, Jurin, Chisa and Maya the mainns and Hinata is the lead and adlibs.

They did Shooting Star on Its Live which is the Korean version of 1st Take. They did the harmonies that you were talking about and had way more stage presence.

​@@Koko3opIt's not an excuse, if the nature of the song doesn't warrant overly elaborate harmonies, then it's okay that it doesn't have them. It's a 70-80% hip hop song. If you don't like this version, you can always go back to the original. , on this channel there will always be something to complain about, with Girl Gvng it turned out that you would have expected a more demanding choreography, with New dance, the repetitive chorus, now with shooting Star that the song lacked harmonies, the truth is I don't know why I returned to this channel

Babyyyyyyy Taemin has "IT." It's that thing that no one can put their finger on. There is no name for it, and there is no recreating it. You either got that shit, or you don't. MJ had it; and Taemin has it. I know a lot of people make that comparison between the two and YES Taemin was definitely heavily influenced by Michael as any performer born after the 80's undoubtably is. MJ completely changed the game. And I FULLY believe that Taemin will too. He is an artistic shapeshifter and I love it. It's unfortunate that there are still folks out there who don't know who this man is!!! I can't wait to see what's next.

Lows were def Jurin and maybe Cocona and Harvey at times and I think the mids were Maya and Harvey mainly but I can't be sure. Edit: So I watched their recent live performance and learned that the highs were actually Juria Chisa and Maya. Hinata Harvey and I think Jurin did middle. Cocona was doing the low notes based on their acapella short they posted.

I was trying to work out who was doing the lower harmony too!! I assumed Cocona tbh, but Harvey was doing those little low dips in her solo part so she clearly can go down there a little, so you might be right. I’m going ignore the Shooting Star one and focus on WWY because they did so good!! I don’t think there was a vocal backing track at all tbh, but I could be wrong. I did notice that they skipped or changed a lot of the runs/riffs in the original song, but the changes were nice so it didn’t bother me too much. Great reaction and so glad you added WWY on the end! You’re a machine for doing that so last minute😂

For XG, bc it's the First Take they only have one chance to record and have no room for error, otherwise that's that. Hence, why they only did parts they were 100$ confident in and/or adjusted for a safer range

both of my ults in one video! 1. enjoyed the performance video wayyyy more than the fancams and even the guilty MV too. i personally liked guilty but honestly this song is now stuck in my head. and the performance video was so enjoyable from the styling and how he was feeling it. my only quip is why didn't they release this sooner?? 2. i was wondering why the members didn't interact with each other much, i wasn't sure if they were nervous or was this supposed to be "serious"? idk. the wwy one was so good! always happy to see your reactions micah

I feel like you always give really effective notes as a consumer/viewer and as someone who seems experienced with vocal/music production. Hell even when it comes to aesthetics and a groups artistry you're pretty quick to catch on and notice what a group is or isn't capable of and you give critiques on how to improve or hide something. There are no backing track. The lower tones are done by Cocona, Maya, Jurin, and don’t get it wrong, Harvey as well. Amy may have that high timbre when rapping but when she sings. It’s different. I think your prior comment about SS needs a tiny appreciation. They did dropped some harmonies in exchange, to do it on the chorus parts. But I do agree the disappointment on Chisa’s pre-chorus part where Juria harmonizes with her.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. The Rizzness is his rap song from his album Guilty. After Guilty everyone was going wild for this song. I was not expecting a video for it though. Taemin has performed this song a lot and i like his various fits and change in choreo. This choreo here is different from the 1st live he did of this song a few months ago. New Taemin bias here, only 9-10 months. For me I feel it's an evolution of his song Advice in some ways. Love that he is exploring rap more in his comeback. With the demon part and angel like part i get Jackson Wang vibes. He used black smoke in his past songs too. Appreciate u sharing ur thoughts as always. Happy holidays! I absolutely agree with you about adding more harmonies for live stages . It would add more flavour and fullness to the songs. I hope that with more performances they become relaxed and have a lot of fun on stage. Even if mistakes are made, it will help them grow more vocally individually and as a group.

It's funny that when I first saw this live I tried to find who didi the low too 😅 I guess jurin harvey and cocona each harmonized for the low, harvey really surprises me how smooth she can change to low note in her part.

First Take has 0 backing track, its all 100% live. Where as its Live! does use a backing track. Even in the Winter Without You version they didn't harmonise as they did in the First Take version, they use a lot of the backing track for their harmonies just like in the Shooting Star version. Shooting star and Winter Without You are completely different styles of singing which is probably why they didn't use much harmonies especially since its mostly Juria and Chisa doing them. They probably felt it would have been too much for them to do that in a 100% live setting. The 2 songs are written and sang in different ways. It's not that hard to understand why they would do that. I feel like the It's Live ver. was better overall for Shooting Star as far as a live vocal performance goes compared to the FIRST TAKE ver. The way they utilized harmonies between Chisa and Juria, the vibes, everything was just delivered much better. But I absolutely LOVE the WWY First Take ver. I just adore these girls. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us 2024. Also, it's nice to hear that Shooting Star is still your song of the year. Although I watch most of your reactions, I do miss a few, and I never know what song could come along and possibly take their place according to your taste lol.

I have to say, I was a bit disappointed when the Shooting Star performance came out that they dropped the harmonies considering it's such a key part of the song to me, and it did make me wonder if while we've heard that they're good individual singers, maybe they haven't really developed the chops as a group to pull that off in real time. Then the WWY performance came and completely obliterated that notion. That simultaneously makes me give the SS video some slack because it wasn't for a lack of talent but at the same time makes me even more frustrated with it because fuck me, clearly you guys could do it in your sleep.

Simply put, we make excuses for lacklustre vocals/harmonies that we do not accept for dancing and that perception has to change as idols are singers FIRST.

Yeah they look absolutely terrified in shooting star to the point I felt concerned. 😭 My theory is they felt more pressure since this is their first like, real showcase to the general public of their home country. Plus so much of kpop uses backtracks at the least, they probably got used to that extra "security". Idk I saw a comment saying most kpop gps are super stiff first vid, then loosen up 2nd and I'm glad they were right! Check out the fan cam of Taemins most recent online metamorph concert. He started with this song upside down on the stage above the main stage. He also did it for his song door. Minho said they were worried about him doing things upside down but still they were supporting him in the audience. Minho will be doing an online fan meeting on Jan 7th. Where he will debut his new song. ( he's currently filming on location). Key will be doing his solo concert in Japan. Shinee as a group will also be doing a tour.
