There's always been a difference between Idol Rappers (i.e. Blackpink) and what people would call underground or "serious" rappers. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a huge BP fan, but I can admit that if you threw the girls into a battle, they might not be able to hold their own. That's just my opinion and absolutely no hate to the girls themselves. These girls however, as well as RM and Suga from BTS, learned from OG rappers and were educated to learn from them as well. It's all about the dedication to the craft and how you were educated about it.

Explained it perfectly. I don’t dislike the BP girls either but they definitely aren’t rappers so when you look at suga or rm you clearly can see people see it as their craft and it’s the same with the xg girls

Current active real rappers who have reached the pinnacle of Kpop - Gdragon, TOP, RM, Suga, and Soyeon. Therefore, no matter how impressive they look, XG are no different than BP in that members contribute nothing to the lyrics, composition, nor arrangement of any of their hits.

BTS doesn't only have fast raps but the boys like RM ...JHOPE and SUGA does change their flow and their cadence are SOOOO strong. I know these girls are soo good.

I love XG bringing in the rap these days. BTS use to do that back in 2010-2016.. after the love yourself era the American stuff didn’t do it for me. I just want them to dance hard break their bones and rap like monsta X 😂 like their life depended on it.

You ain't trippin'. There's a huge difference between real rappers and idol rappers. I can appreciate the entertainment value for idols and the work they put in. But... they can't do this. This speaks to real heart of us from the culture. Can't fake that

I used to listen to kpop a lot, but the only girl group I really liked was 2NE1. I don't dislike BlackPink, but never felt a connection with the group, you know? But the girls in XG brought something different to the scenario (even if they are not exactly a kpop group, but a global one), the rap line remembers me of underground rappers, what is something we don't see to much in this industry. I wonder if, someday, Agust D and Cocona could do a collab, it would be crazy

Well black pink do have rappers but for me personally I think that xg’s rap line has better flow and cadence (not saying that bp rap line can’t do it too but I just don’t know bc they haven’t ever displayed it) Bts on the other hand have a great rap line in my opinion and tho they don’t rap in the same style as xg, I like their rap line better. But xg is also a Japanese group so I think comparing them to other Japanese groups would be better than comparing them to Korean ones.

Honestly , from what i've seen and I am Fairly new to K-Pop. The first group I heard was Blackpink. But I've actually had people say they won't listen to XG because they are not Korean, which is BS! I have a lot of favorite k pop groups but To me XG ranks above them all!

If u want to check out some 'idols' from kpop groups with Rappers that are acknowledged by the khiphop community i have some suggestions for u .U already know bts , others would be Bobby of iKON (won a rap competition called smtm3 the only idol to do so), Mino of Winner ( was runner up in smtm4, what I would call a lyricist), Zico of Block B (was a rapper before he debuted with group, well loved by the khiphop community), G dragon and Top of bigbang (call them the first idol Rappers to be acknowledged by the khiphop community)
