So the group as a whole has been together since 2017 which is when they first started as trainees and trained real hard for five years to become part of XG. But some members have longer relationships. Maya and Cocona have been childhood friends since they were like 5 years old, and Jurin and Harvey have known each other since like 2014 because both were part of the dance group Shorty.

Probably could have just done both one after another in the same video. MV followed by the first take. They trained together for 5 years before debuting March 2022. So they we're together almost 7 years before making this song. And yes they are this good in person. I've seen them 4x and I could vouch that they are even better live. I recommend watching some of their live performances on your own to see for yourself. Search Juria or Chisa live SF.

XG debuted in March 2022 [edited to update correct year], but they started training with each other back in 2017 as part of XGALX's Project Galaxy. So they definitely grew up together!

Jurin and Harvey were already friend before they both audition for XG. Chisa, Juria, Maya and Cocona were student of AVEX. So, technically, they already knew each others since their elementary school days. Hinata is the only member that is new to everything. She's from a rural part of Japan. Jurin, Chisa, Harvey, Juria, Cocona and Maya are students of AVEX.

XG is the only group that can do a full rap song like Woke Up that appeal to old hip hop heads and then are also capable of doing a song like this where all seven members do beautiful harmonies that make you teary eyed and appeals to every rnb fan. Then if that's not enough they are also one of the best groups dancing wise that don't shy away from difficult dance choreography and have build up a reputation for being always in sync when they dance due to their amazing chemistry.

I saw them live in Vegas and their vocals are ridiculous. They had a little acapella segment and they sound exactly like their recorded vocals. I mean first take videos are the perfect example of how they sound live. Seeing them perform woke up live was amazing as well as this song
