Nyjah is a legend that helped define contest skateboarding. He’s been instrumental in pushing it as far as it’s come. But it’s clear now that there’s a changing of the guard. These guys in Japan have officially taken it to the next level.

@@DanCeen-c2b totally understand how injuries can affect things. Even still, Nyjah never had the technical level these guys are showing in park skating. Big handrails and epic stuff? Absolutely. He’s always been SO consistent with a great bag of tricks that he packs in to runs. But these young guys have a level of technical ability we haven’t seen before, partially in credit to guys like Nyjah who paved the way for them.

Dude, I've been a fan of Sora since I saw him Gazelle flip a 10 stair at the Mountain Dew tour like... 8 years ago? And got scored the most criminally under scored ever to lose the gold. I'm so happy to see him win his first X-Games gold. His trick selection is completely unmatched and mind boggling. If you don't skateboard at a level where you can picture the tricks he's doing, I can understand why they might not look amazing, but trust me, they are insane.

I believe they really underscored jinwoos first run, he did the most tricks and some very technical ones among the largest variety and had the best usage of the park, he did it all rails, transition, gaps, with speed and aggression, I don't know what exactly the judges are missing???

@@BcottStudios sora does alley oop spin tricks into grinds which are way harder then flipping into a grind. Very few people can do sugarcanes, 270 boardslide (switch lip), or bs 180 50-50 the hardway.

Starting your run with a massive full cab back tail on that hubba is crazy, let alone ending it with such a blind Yuto-esque combo which is crazy, no one does that trick lol. The last trick alone would score super high in best trick

I think it's harder to land all of that on your first run... By the 3rd run you've had a better feel of the tricks...kinda why I wouldnt have given Yuto a 9.4 in Paris for a trick he tried 4 times vs what Jagger landed first try.

Kyrie won in my mind. Sora was good but not near as good as kyrie. Kyrie did harder and more tricks and faster than sora. Soras was slow and not as much tricks. Kyrie did harder tricks too.

Score does not matter all that matters is the result. they couldve gave ginwoo a 82, kyrie and 85 and sora a 86.5, its all the same result, clueless.

89 was extremely generous. It's funny how almost everyone who has been skating for at least 10 years agrees on the fact that Ginwoo's tricks are more busy than they're technical, his style is one of the worst in the whole contest and his trick variety and originality is extremely lackluster. Only the noobs are saying that he deserved the win because you haven't been skating and watching skateboarding for long enough to develop good taste and tell smoke and mirrors from real difficulty.

the course has no flow and very few options. lots of one-way obstacles and even repetition (so many flat bars and yet no down hubba!). the colour scheme hiding the transitions was the cherry on the cake for me. I've been watching xgames a long time and this is easily the worst, least entertaining street course I've ever seen from them. such a shame, they usually do way better than this!

Everything.. so much so I knew I could just click any moment in the video to give you an example. So I happened to click 17:00, CRs run… (which was really steezed out btw) and he passes the torch to Bryce instead of doing his job of calling the runs. They talk about his rock to faked sliding and he says “you don’t think it was because of Bryce serenading that made him fall” while CR is wearing headphones! Oh ffs… literally anyone who skated hard for a decade in the last 5o years would do better! It’s not a job one should lock down for a career. This vocation should get mixed up on the regular. I can only think of a handful of sports broadcasters in any sport over the past 30 years who didn’t sour by their 5th year broadcasting.

How? There was an inconsisteny in his scoring though. The only things different in Kairi's 3rd run were a Bigspin out after Heelflip BS Tailslide and the Nollie Inward Heel FS Boardslide was cleaner. But there is an 8 point difference. Also, Kairi gets scored high even though he doesn't do his first trick on the big obstacle.

The judging was fair, you're just not great at distinguishing tricks that are technical vs tricks that look technical. Ginwoo had the 3rd best line and probably would've been 4th If cordano completed his run.
