Free bi annual releases with activity UI being streamlined to support this new model sounds nice, but I'll believe it when I see it. I am expecting A LOT of monetization changes to come, hand in hand with these changes, we'll have to wait and see whether its good or bad. They said that these story activities won't be time gated, which sounds more like a goal and not a promise, and will be non-linear, which means less dev time on that story structure/ progression. Which overall sounds to me like House of Wolves, Dark Below, and Shadowkeep types of endgame just brought to the forefront and scatter each campaign into random sections of each new activity, with additional free and bigger updates more frequently throughout the year to alleviate the emptiness. Maybe I'm wrong, but who really knows?

If I’m not mistaken I ended up getting it from Xur, also I think was while before I got it too because I had run vault of glass already and at the time I didn’t have it. As a matter of fact I didn’t even have red death either. I only had one legendary scout rifle and all blues 😂

I’m very interested in seeing how the “Solo Ops” will work. Being a lone wolf player makes it difficult to acquire a lot of the exotics. And this year Bungie doubled down on that by requiring at least a fireteam of 2 in order to acquire some of the exotics this season. There should be an alternative way to get the exotic class items for lone wolf players. Make the missions matchmaking, that would help a lot.

One very simple thing that caused people to replay and grind for hours all those years ago was powerful exotics and how they were random drops with higher rarity. Random drops were fantastic and made the game unique. Biggest mistake they did was getting rid of these and doing things like 3 of coins in d1 days , then getting most recent ones purely for having a season pass or doing a mission now has nowhere near the same feeling.

For people who need an image on the non-linear design for future expansions. Forsaken kinda was non-linear because you got to choose which of The Fanatic's Barrons to hunt down. The only problem was certain boss missions were level capped

This is what I was telling my friends. Forsaken was pretty non linear in that regard, which was new and nice at the time. It helped let the player explore the tangled shore at the same time as hunting the barons which felt pretty fun to do. It felt like your time in the open world was directly tied to your experience in the campaign in a way.

Actually one thing I miss in the Pale Heart is that you’re in there on your own. There are no other plays that you can jump in to what they are doing and help out. Like the original areas. I really miss this as I have made some friends when they have jumped into my fire team or messaged me asking for help.

As someone who has played Destiny through all of its 10 years, I love the idea of bringing back the 'mystery', both in content and story. I clearly remember the early days and how fun it was when nobody was quite sure what to expect or how to 'best progress'. That said, Destiny has always had really good-sounding blogs and trailers and things, and been about 50/50 on the actual product. Sometimes its amazing (Taken King, Forsaken, Final Shape), sometimes its disappointing. (Rise of Iron, D2 Vanilla, Shadowkeep). We'll just have to wait and see which side of the coin this stuff lands on.

I always liked the expansion model more than the seasonal one. Even when stuff like black armory came out I was a little upset at the pacing of the content. I loved playing the content at my own pace, and then spending the downtime of the expansion doing end game stuff, min maxxing, or simply playing other games. The drip feed content from the seasonal model just does not sit right with me. This resembles more of the expansion model, just without the big, big expansion at the end of the year, which honestly, I’m ok with. This looks like it’ll give bungie a lot more time to work on making the campaigns have actual substance to them, and gives them more freedom to do some cool stuff rather than have the whole focus on just 1 or 2 activities like how we have with seasons/episodes. Always hopeful! We’ll see how it plays out!

I wanted to do the new exotic mission but saw you couldn't queue up with fireteam finder... tried to do it alone and couldn't figure out where to go and ended up falling through the map. Turned it off and haven't turned it back on since. Been playing since D1 beta. Just no drive to play currently. Same thing with Buried Bloodline. Got the gun but can't find people to help me get the catalyst. Every time I try and do a fireteam finder for catalyst, the blueberries won't communicate and trigger the wrong blights.

If we compare the live service model to TV shows, the old model is equivalent to a rigid 20-minute airing blocks, and the new model being streaming shows that can be flexible runtimes. If we don't have a season to "fill" or if it serves the story to end it on a high note, it can only enhance the narrative.

I legitimately think that the best thing they can do is open up build diversity by allowing 2 exotic items on each side. Imagine Gyrfalcon chest piece with Galanor/Crytarachne class item. I would love to just mess around with all the unique interactions. My eyes are on blight ranger with dombadiers running winter's shroud and dusk field grenades to freeze everyone and drop a bomb and keep moving. There's so much we be able to experiment with especially with adjustments to prismatic going forward. Bungie is sitting on a feature that could bring in and hold a lot of engagement.

It will be fixed and added to the finder tomorrow. The work around has been to select the exotic rotator under episodic and then backing out of whatever weekly exotic mission it is to then select Encore. I’ve found most ppl in the fireteam finder are looking to play encore that way.

I'm glad to see an actual road map of their ideas. I think breaking the formula, if they can do it, will freshen the game a bit. Making seasonal resets biannual and having 2 smaller expansions a year should be interesting, especially alongside what seems to be free seasons? Apollo and Behemoth are interesting code names too... Actually im not too opposed to how they are doing dlc from now on more replay value is great and each dlc having a more unique form of gameplay sounds a lot like warframe but i love that

I wish we could stray a bit more away from the reprisals atp. We already unsunset, revamped, reskinned, etc. If I pay for it yearly: I don’t want the same weapons taken out and spammed back in arbitrarily to boost presale. Like the other changes though, so we’ll see.

Seasons = episode = expansional seasonal activities. Go to A, Kill B, retreave C, watch cutscene, return to A. Wait weeks for doing it again. Nothing changes.
