香港故事 - 老店情未了• 香港世一：超市的傳說

香港開埠以來百多年歷史，通泰行如同歷史見證人。第一代創辦人由街邊擺檔直至開設辦館再轉營成超市,經歷一次又一次時代的衝擊,包括大型連鎖超市減價戰，當時有些分店也被迫關門,之後通泰行致力於罐頭、米、粉麵、酒….等等批發生意,超級市場才可賴以生存。直到現今,雖然只剩餘西營盤總店,為了保留香港昔日情懷,超市仍售賣不少懷舊物品,疫情其間,雖然生意減少,老闆不但沒有辭退任何員工,而且更時常派物資給有需要的街坊,是一間充滿人情味的老店。

睇見不禁就想起已前小超市,好懷念唔怪之得冇曬啦！原來二間已變成超貴市,除咗差不多到期清貨才有凸價,現在最想買又買不到就是小紅腸,又平又美味😋想有米香最好溝米。😂

先父50年代後期起年在西區經營罐頭批發店，自售賣火柴火水、以至後來咖啡鷹奶等，跟通泰第一代是行家，也是競爭者，但後來因為總總原因，至1988年結業。 今時今日盛行網購，而連鎖超市也競爭激烈，她仍能以米業酒業支持賴以生存，殊不簡單。但願這些老店物識到賢能接班人，傳承下去。

買米通常以斤計算，亦比較重，所以包装纸會用較厚的雞皮纸摺個斗型，而非用易穿的報纸包装。

It is really crazy how much people put into the education when in reality, people should just be "happy with the way things are"..... I would not have known about this kind of spirits. This is not "wine" in English. This is known as "spirits". Anything with an increased figure of 10% higher and more alcohol... is actually classified by law...(in the UK) as a "spirit".... And nobody drinks spirits without diluting them at all. This is the thing. By (Christian) law.... you are NOT allowed to lose your morality, your mind, your emotions... at all. So therefore, what many restaurants, or bar... create a license. And this license, is not permission to open. The license, covers the job function of the bartender. i.e. He has to pass an actual exam.. know his spirits lists.. and category, and know how to measure the units.... i.e. 20ml of 40% = how strong. Then I need how much dilution/water/soft drink... to make it acceptable. So that the ratio of the liquid is NOT in a way that can damage your blood's sugar level... or the blood level's function. I expected... China. Or even HK at the very least to have already had this done already ??? Sorry.. but... People in HK are such sales people such that, you are losing your self of decencies. Very evil. IMHO.

Some of these items used to be the ones that I see in the UK's chinese supermarkets. Really miss these kind of items as well ? Really nice sauces, and very dense and intense flavours. Even though they're classified as sauces.. it is really an actual concentrates. Any decent cantonese chefs would know how to turn this around as well. Very nice flavours.
