英国人设计的自由经济制度和完备的法律体系,再加上香港人的勤劳和聪慧,造就了香港60年代之后的繁荣…

The prosperity was the result of China's isolation. Practically everything sold in the 1950s and 1960s were made in Hong Kong. Actually, none of them was. All were made in the mainland. At the time, the only way they could be exported was to have a stamp put on in Hong Kong. How could you not get rich if you did not even have to make any capital investment. You could just make money by stamping. The British siphoned much wealth back to London. The eventual return of Hong Kong was a disaster for them. It will not be for Hong Kong. Lasting prosperity will reward the diligence and intelligence of the Hong Kong people.

I was young when Chris Patten was a Hong Kong Governor. Eventhough he was not a native HK people, he did his best and many people loved him. He was the great leader in HK that I have never seen after 1997.
I love British Hong Kong too. Hong Kongers were able to walk with their heads and chest high. And by now all these covid shit would have ended if Hk was still ruled by the British and most Hong Kongers would have returned to their normal lives and not being forced to take the harmful vaccines and restricted by the vac pass.

Well, I can have my own thoughts of what I think. I dont need anyone to comment here, especially those from China. If you unhappy, just stop reading the comments here.
Till 1997, British always sent a white British governor to rule HK- no election, no democracy. It’s pure colonialism. Why they suddenly so worried about HK democracy and freedom? I just find it super hypocritical
