。。或许当初就哪里都不要去,这样比较好!I am a foreigner who have been living in Singapore for more than 20years, there’s no better place to call home!
Its also impt to feel we have sense of belonging to a country in Sg, unlike in Msia.

Fortunate n grateful staying in Singapore, everything within reach, food from all over the world, safety.....flat fully paid, travel more than above 40 countries, transport n food are cheap a month only $210..even malaysia also cannot compare....🥰🙏
If majority population here doesn't change their mindset, this country is bound for destruction. At that time doesn't matter if you are malay or non-malay, muslim or non-muslim- we're all equally screwed.
Thanks for asking our opinions. I’m very lucky to be born a Singapore Citizen. I love everything about Singapore 🇸🇬. The only complain I have is the weather, which can be scorching hot 🥵. I love Singapore 🇸🇬 is because our government is stable and not corrupt. Is safe here. Singapore used to be VERY clean until the mid-80s. That started an influx of people so there was a time not so clean. I feel sorry for your colleagues or friends who didn’t come with you to be Permanent Residents earlier. Once you give up, you don’t get anymore chance. Yes now everything is expensive so looks like only the ultra rich can move here. But those middle income can still try their luck. Singapore is very small. You travel from 1 end to the other end takes no more than 1 hour. Besides we have MRT, is very convenient. You can stay on the outskirts, like Tampines or Sengkang or Woodlands, rental is cheaper than central. Singapore is very small. I welcome foreigners to work here, I have no qualms. Just I’d appreciate foreigners who work here to abide by our laws. If you don’t like here, you can or please go back to your home country anytime. Don’t put up a nuisance and disrupt our peace. Is already very crowded. Why do people wanna move here? Because of our strong currency? Because wanna give their children a better education, and their next generation? Over here you don’t get racial discrimination compared to other countries. Besides our government also stresses the importance of racial harmony from time to time. You have answered most of the questions. They can stay here for 3 mths then stay at another country for sometime then make comparisons, then decide. It’s a personal decision. Yes it looks like staying in Malaysia 🇲🇾 is cheaper than S’pore but the quality of life is different. Average Malaysians complain the prices of everything increased and is very expensive; is more expensive compared to S’pore. 你说付出这么’大‘的代价 - ‘big’ as in money? Think of Covid-19, you got more freedom, vaccinations compare to other c’tries. I’ll retire in S’pore despite the weather.

I know many Malaysians who have done very well in SG over decades and no longer want to return to Malaysia because they have outgrown the places they came from. Instead of returning to Malaysia, they bring their families (eg parents) over to SG.
Singapore will not be a welcomed place for immigration for families who have not yet accumulated a certain amount of wealth. The cost of living in Singapore as a family before becoming a PR is just too high. However, if you are single and young person looking at Singapore, it is actually still a great place to be at as compared to other places.
It all depends on one’s lifestyle. If one chooses Montessori kindergarten over PCF or an iPhone instead of Google/OPPO or an up-class hair salon over S$5 hair cut (male) at neighborhood barber/salon or meals at restaurants (cafes) rather than at hawker centre/food court or buying groceries at class-branded supermarkets over those located at (HDB) neighborhood or buying a car and yet cursing at high COE but conveniently ignoring/overlooking the efficient public transportation etc, the list goes on! For Singaporeans, too many of them over stretch/invest in their home (especially if one is the first-time owner). Why buy a S$600K home instead of the more affordable S$400K or a S$2m property instead of S$1.5m or a condo/HDB resale rather than a BTO (with the exception of some who really cannot wait because of urgent reasons). There is almost always (relatively) cheaper alternatives in many things and choose only those that are within one’s affordability. In fact, many of those who constantly complain & fanning the flames of discontent about high living costs could be those with rather “atas” lifestyle. Those are the local people who try to live like a (very) high-income “expatriate”, turning their WANTS into basic NEEDS! Ironically, many within this the group could be paying very little to no income tax because of the various generous huge tax relief! I think the prices of 80% of basic necessities here are relatively reasonable. With 80/20 rule, I believe Singapore is a livable country. Of course, they are always the lower income group who are struggling. So, the government and wealthier general population at large should constantly assist them (financially) as much as possible…

As a local who have my root here in Singapore, my advise is, you got to be prepared. Cost of living, the muti-cultural society (different habits like having neighbours who cooks curry everyday haha), the hot & humid weather, not much chance of becoming multi-millionaire, instead what is waiting is often a rather mundane lifestyle maybe? It is comfortable, stable but depending on where you came from, it could be "boring".

They need to get chinese from Malaysia and China preferably Malaysia as the culture is similar and they can speak malay and basic english, so can communicate with the local malay and indian.
