JR Shinonoi Line Cab View Part 2. This video covers the Shinonoi Line from Kamuriki Station north to Shinonoi Station. Part 1, which includes cab views south of Kamuriki Station, is here. ↓
• 篠ノ井線前面展望パート1松本→冠着 <Cab...
The Shinonoi Line is a line with a total length of 66.7 km, and currently plays a significant role in connecting Nagano City and Matsumoto City, the major cities of Nagano Prefecture. Almost the entire line runs through the mountains, and there are switchbacks at Ubasute Station along the way.
I omitted the inside of the tunnel in this video as well. Please be aware of this. It's refreshing to see short tunnels in the mountains, but I couldn't get rid of the reflection of my own silhouette. I have to blur it out, but this is a remaining issue.
One of the tunnels that was erased still plays an important role on this route. In Part 1 of this route and in the first half of this video, the left side is open in the direction of travel, but the route that passes through the tunnel and reaches the switchback station is open on the right side in the direction of travel. The impression is very different.
Once the track reaches Inariyama Station, the terrain ahead is flat. The train moves smoothly towards Shinonoi Station.

Thank you for your comment. Kamuriki Station, Ubasute Station, Inariyama Station. All are attractive. I also noticed this for the first time while shooting a video.

Beautiful mountain railroading. I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia in a railroading family, and have always been a fan of these lines.

Thank you for the nice cabview. At last ones I notice signal's lights turn off'n'on. Is it the effect of frequency beat? Frequency of power supply LED lamps and camera frames per second.

Since it continues to be visible to the naked eye with the light on, I think it is a problem with the cycle with the shutter.

The second part is also interesting to observe, especially the train operation in the switchback station: this time a second train arrives from the opposite direction - this is how such a method works to quickly compensate for differences in height and is also very cost-effective! 👍 But I also notice that there is a direct switch connection without having to go to the passenger station... maybe for freight trains?? There is a more complex switch connection between Obasute and Inariyama stations, but no station or stopping point as it seems... are these connections for industrial companies or perhaps a lumber company or something similar??? Please excuse the many questions: for me these trips via screen through a country that is foreign to me are very interesting and attractive, I would like to find out so many things that I observe during these trips ☺️ In any case, as always, thank you very much for the opportunity to get to know your beautiful homeland better by train 🙏🙏 Many greetings 🖖

You noticed it well. The direct switch at Ubasute Station is supposed to be for express trains passing through this station. Freight trains that were operated in the past may have also passed through this route, but I don't know if there is a setup for freight trains now. The signal station between Ubasute Station and Inariyama Station does not seem to be in use at the moment. It seems to have been an essential piece of equipment in the days when steam locomotives were operated. Modern EMUs run very smartly, but they have eliminated the need for some of the railroad equipment. If you have any further questions, please write. I will answer as far as I can understand.
