I loved watching this on Saturday mornings with my sister. I especially liked that Kimiko had a different outfit every episode, unlike most cartoon characters. What Disney did to this show was downright criminal, especially changing the name of the Shen Gong Wu, changing Dojos color and making him so damn thirsty for Master Fung

Actually the Shen Gong Wu names to my knowledge were copyrighted by Warner Bros. Animation so they had to change the names if they wanted to continue the show without Warner Bros. Involvement.

I don't think anybody should've been the leader and just stayed as an equal team. Omi really got the short end of the stick in that last arc since all the others became a leader in the alternate timelines but he never did.

You are missing some context in the lore. Jack didnt seperate from Wu Ya because he didnt want to work with her. She backstabbed him and abandoned him for the monster. When her plan failed, she tried to pretend the past events didnt happen but Jack didnt have any of it and decided to do it on his own.

This show was so brilliant. I remember re-watching the first seasonover and over again and hoping that after the episode they defeated Wuya there will be a continuation. By this moment, CN played the first season like 8 times and I knew almost every part of dialogue by heart. Even now i would probably quote the lines before the characters speak them. I was so happy when the next seasons were finally introduced. Great ideas, great humour, great characters, great villains. Jack Spicer was the most hillarious since even though he was a genius inventor etc., he was dumb af :D Also i used to draw and create my own sheng gong-wus in primary school, too bad the show was kinda short, yet still one of the best ever :)

Xiaolin Showdown was one of my favourite shows as a kid. I loved it so much. Chase Young was a really cool villain, but Jack Spicer was hilarious. Back then, you would expect Omi to be chosen as the Master since he wthe MC and face of the show, so it was surprising when Raymundo was chosen. So great though, I rly should rewatch it.

Chase young and Mala Mala Jong are some of the best villains in cartoons. Just there mere presence gives your body a feeling of “we’re fucked”. Like as seen in the show, only plot armor prevails.

Could you imagine if they made a sequel series or something that had little to no spirit from the original series and make Raimundo’s promotion completely meaningless? Did you REALLY expect them to show HUNDREDS of Wu? They usually only got 1-3 new ones per episode and 1 was more common.

Tbf introducing hundreds of items which can be included in any episode at any point would likely be a bit overwhelming for the (usually young) viewers. The alternative would be something like Yu-Gi-Oh, where the writers can introduce a card at any point before it getting a proper introduction and never needing to re-use it in future episodes. Keeping to the Shen Gong Wu that we knew was probably better since repeated use of the items helps the viewer develop an expectation for each item's capabilities.

I thought the same until I looked at Ray's evolution and Omi's growth. Part of Omi's journey was learning to let go of his superiority complex, and accepting that others could be as good as him, if not better, even if they had also traversed the dark. This is shown in the show's ending, when Omi's genuinely happy for Raimundo ascending to the rank of Master. I get where you're coming from, though: Omi did go through a lot and had a lot of merit to go through as a Master, but I believe the ending gave closing to his character arc.

Because despite being a great fighter, he was an egomaniac and a terrible leader. The entire point of the finale was to show that Omi was a poor decision maker and leader while Raimundo had both these qualities in spades. Honestly the third season in general subtly but noticeably demonstrated why Raimundo, not Omi, was fit to be the leader. It was heavily implied throughout.

I very vagually remember, that they had a sweepstakes on channel 5, were the show aired in my region. Where kids could submit their drawings/ideas for a shengong wu and then if you won it would be turned into a real sheng gong wu. Idk if they changed this format but when I was younger as a kid I noticed whichever side won the first talismen, they would win the showdown (or maybe the other way) BUT, I noticed it on every episode I watched which was maybe a handful. Edit: all the episodes I saw there was always 3 things they all went for but the 3rd one would always result in a showdown with the previous 2 items
