Jack Spicer was one of the greatest villains of all time XD. Yeah, he was the "Joke Villain", but not only he was great at that, the guy was also REALLY competent. We don't think much about his robots since they were broken easily, but the guy was constantly making machines that gave him a chance in a 1v4 at his disadvantage against martial artists with supernatural powers, winning in the end a good amount of times. And he also created some REALLY amazing things, like a working time-machine, or that doppelganger robot. And, of course, we can't forget that he was ALWAYS on the move and with some plan. And not silly plans that wouldn't amount to anything because he was a "Joke Villain", he was constantly making deals with other villains (Which he was prepared and planning to backstab), finding ways to steal things from the temple where the protagonists kept their magic artifacts (With an amazing rate of success), and even spying on the serious big bads (With not so much success as the previous one XD). This guy did all of that while being literally the weakest of them all, whose only partner was a backstabbing witch that literally throws him away to moment it's convenient for her, and leaving him alone for a while in more than one ocassion. Damn, there was also a story where it was shown that, in a world where Omi disappeared, the final winner at the end would be Jack. Not the rest of the protagonists, not the 1500 years-old all-powerful witch, not the unstoppable genius martial artist that sold his soul for power, nobody else but Jack himself. Jack Spicer is the "Joke Villain" made into perfection.

The biggest surprise here is that the creator of the show is actively making another revival sequel. I imagine it will follow the same core of characters again but as young adults this time around. They just have to get rid of the Omi clone or actively have him in the sidelines for this new project. Not to mention giving the main four characters the main spotlight again and reduce the over flanderization both the heroes and villains went through in Chronicles. If they manage to accomplish this, then I can see this new sequel being successful since the characters will pretty much have grown up with the audience. A sequel of that nature can be something we never got with Avatar: The Last Airbender. Imagine the possibilities.
@pepeedge56012 жыл бұрын
They should axe everything from chronicles and continue from where the original left off. Chronicles is not even a sequel, there are way too many contradictions. I am fine with a timeskip, as long at it follows the original show, not the reboot.

I always hated how in every showdown of chronicles, it felt like there were no stakes, I mean that like in the old showdowns you touch the wanted wu at the same time wager a wu, and winner gets the ante, in chronicles, every episode the characters wager their own wu, but the next episode is like they never lost it at all even though that was the whole point, and even the new wu revealed in each episode were real one off wu that never got used again save for the main characters signature wu

Eastern Culture has two concepts of the basic elements that shape the world. One commonly known as "Wuxing" in Chinese and that is also what you refer to: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth. Another one, called "Classical elements", also has five elements which are: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind (Air) and Void (or Space, Aether), however the latter is more well-known with the first four elements. So Raimundo's Wind is also based on Chinese concept of fundamental elements too.

@mattdamutt56812 жыл бұрын
Perhaps it was because she was THE girl on the team that they leaned on the trope more, but I didn't really see much wrong with it myself. Perhaps it was made more obvious because Omi had no real experience with girls early on; Clay and Raimundo did but knew she had a short fiery temper on such matters, and thus mess with her as friendly rivals, especially Raimundo. Amazing little throwback, but! How could you not mention the epic finale that spanned through episodes? It was bussin. Along with the other multiple-episode stories in the show. I loved it when the series sailed away from its episodic format to build a greater lore.

Yes! The series finales were always so hype. The time travel story got really dark, too, and I was hoping he would mention that. Truly a gem of a show.

I can't believe that this show is over 18 year old now. God, I feel older than I should. Also, I am still thrown by the fact that Tom Kenny is Raimundo. I hear it, but at the same time I don't. Probably because I don't hear the iconic SpongeBob laugh. Anyway, I still love Xiaolin Showdown to this day. I even still have the copy of the video game I bought way back when. I used to always play as Raimundo because he was my favorite, but I eventually played through as Omi, Kimiko, and Clay; mainly because I wanted to unlock all of their alternate costumes and see what they all looked like in street clothes. I have yet to completely play through the game as either Jack or Chase though. I know a lot of people, myself included, got really sick of Omi's bitch ass attitude more than halfway through the show; and that seeing Raimundo thoroughly beat his ass during his second brief stint on the Heylin side was pure bliss; but I think Omi is still a good kid. I especially love how he and Raimundo grew to become such close friends. Even when Omi was busting Rai's balls and making him feel small, he still never doubted Rai's integrity or character. Hell, the first time Rai turned to the Heylin side, Omi was convinced that he was acting because of how much faith he had in him. This, ironically, turned out to be the case the second time around. Also, when Omi turned evil as a result of using the Yin Yo-Yo, he was only able to briefly snap out of it after seeing Rai cry. And who can forget how Omi bowed in respect when Rai was named Team Leader at the end of the original show? I couldn't get into Xiaolin Chronicles when it first aired because I just saw it as another shameless sequel created as a cash grab, but now I'm thinking I should at least try to give it a chance.

I still like this show a lot. I remember being cautiously excited for Chronicles. But it was highly disappointing. Chronicles couldn't seem to decide if it was a continuation or a reboot, since both possibilities seemed implied. I hope this new Xiaolin project ignores Chronicles altogether and just continues Showdown. With the old voice actors, if possible.

Jordan: Remember Xiaolin Showdown? Me, who recently rewatched this show 3 times over: Yeah, I've... I've heard of it. But really, this is one of my favorite shows, met my best friend through it (well, it was mostly 'cuz of our mutual love for Jack but you get the idea 😂). Honestly wish I could've joined you for this one.
@PlanetZoidstar2 жыл бұрын
Hey Miharu. Do you think at some point Jack Spicer was going to do a permenant Face turn like Bianca from Spyro 3 did? They both serve an evil Sorceress (Wuya and The Sorceress) and both aren't as evil as they make themselves out to be early on. Especially if you consider Bianca's initial attempt to intimidate and scare off Spyro. Similar to how Jack is often berated by his fellow villains for not being evil enough (and he turns against Wuya in the Season 1 finale), his efforts to be evil come across as him trying to force it. Bianca was never truly evil and only acted that way to try and stop Spyro getting the eggs back. Then consider the episode where he tried to join the Monks and he honestly WAS trying to be good...As shown when he and Omi have that True or False showdown and when Jack says he only pretended to be good...Turns out he lied. The writers loved to tease the idea Jack would turn good fully at one point (then you have Good Jack when his Good and Evil sides are split by the Reverse Mirror), but it never fully stuck. Much like how Bianca wasn't really evil though she pretended she was, her moral compass helped her switch sides.

You know what I’m really starting to realize by watching your channel? When we were kids we had an extremely diverse set of cartoons and shows to choose from. We had characters of all races, cultures, nationalities, social status, and religions. None of them were forced and ALL of them were SO GOOD. It’s such a shame that studios couldn’t see they didn’t need to basically put a disclaimer in every scene that they were “being inclusive” to be inclusive.

Ah I loved this as a kid! Watched it a lot on Kids WB after school, I really loved Dojo since I’ve always been into dragons and loved how he could talk and change sizes. Also, I could totally be wrong, but didn’t the reboot(ish) series Xiaolin Chronicles show Dojo as being a yellow dragon and not green like in the original? Or was it supposed to be a different dragon? I haven’t seen it.

Xiaolin Chronicles is the sequel series to Xiaolin Showdown. And I'll tell you now, it's not good. They made a lot of changes that honestly didn't make sense (changing Dojo's color from green to yellow is one of them). Like changing the art style of the showdowns from their original hand drawn on to a CGI one. And it's so bad. They also completely changed Chase's design (particularly his dragon form) and personality as well as his bad story. And that's not even touching on the shows bad writing. Which is ironic, since it's made by thr same person who created Xiaolin Showdown.

This show was my childhood and tbh, it was one that I vividly remember. I had the hots for Kimiko back in the day too. lol That being said, I will point out that the villainess name is pronounced as Wu-yah, *not* Wu-yoo. And it's worth noting that in Xiaolin Chronicles changed the name of the Shen Gong Wu (i.e. Orb of Tornami to Orb of Tsunami) but despite how bad of a spinoff that was, I at least appreciate Christy Hui for trying to continue the series.

I was always interested at what new powers there were that i wish they made more toys of these items. some of my favorites were: Twister Lotus, Monkey Staff, Reversing Mirror and the Third-Arm Sash. and then there's the .... "continuation"? ... reboot?.... other series with Xialion in the name i just don't look at. Jack Spicer is still the best though.

The master challanged the group to steal a vase from him, they accepted and he just smashed it to pieces XD i think he said 'your goal is to retrieve the vase, mine is not for you to win' or something like that. It always made me sure to see the bigger picture and make sure what i want to accomplish is in line with my goals.
