The best way to eat century eggs is to go with pickled ginger slices or pickled onion bulbs. One is acidic and the other is alkaline, chemically they neutralize each other and produce a pleasant sweet taste. This should go well with most people.
I love preserved eggs!! Unfortunately I usually only get to eat them with congee, but preserved egg congee often comes with meat, and I'm vegetarian, which means I very seldom get to eat preserved eggs... :'D 我最喜歡吃皮蛋了! !可惜通常只是吃粥的時候才會有機會吃皮蛋,但通常有皮蛋的粥都是皮蛋瘦肉粥。我是素食主義者,所以很少有機會吃皮蛋… :'D
I'm Chinese and I absolutely hate century eggs because when my dad let try it, he basically gave me the whole egg instead of easing me into it piece by piece. I was overwhelmed by the taste and literally vomited all over the floor. And I avoided it like the plague ever since
