S22 display looks the same or better, but it is worse display actually. It flickers at 240hz (Very bad! Your eyes health will deteriorate), slow response time (9ms), dE = 3.2 (midrage level) & lower than advertised peak brightness (850nits). This is Mi12T number: 1920hz flicker rate (excellent), 1.26 ms RS, dE=1.8 (

I was between the xiaomi 12T Pro and samsung S22, its same price here around 650€. The 12T Pro has huge camera bump but the S22 has better size. Now that I realised that the S22 has camera bump too, I'm definatly going for the xiaomi, better in every way apart from the size.

@@rsobral560 Miui is actually pretty usable and the 12t pro trumps the s22 on performance and power consumption since it uses the newer sd 8 plus gen 1. It also comes with a 120 watt charger that charges my phone within 30 minutes from zero to full. The samsung doesn't even come with a charger since this is what my dad uses. The s22 cannot even use generic usb to audio jack connector.

Thing is... 1. Video wise that s22 will beat the 12T and the camera processing... Dimesity is good but not that great in camera that said most of the mediatek arent... 2. Samsung will win based on the completeness/ the overall feel of the phone... 3. Though mediatek is weak at the camera side of things, the dimensity (mostly the newer ones) lineup is so good at keeping temps and handling load for longer time... And lastly 4. Prices will really vary, where I'm from that S 22 will go for a bit over $800 I remember S21 goes for ₱73K ($1400) and the xiaomi 12 goes for ₱32K ($600) both at 8/256 so pricing is a bit too far for comparison... And based on the specs thats shown and is there even though with the downsides of the OS (MIUI) its hard to argue against the 12T

The camera of the S22 is substantially better: look eg at the blown-out sky on the Xiaomi in the landscape shot through the window, and it has a telephoto lens. The Xiaomi's macro cam is useless.

Camera is a toss up, the gaming performance will be better on 12t, they’ve really sorted out the cooling situation well compared to other companies especially with this phone and the charger makes a huge diff for gaming.

Dunno, while the camera on the Samsung definitely looks better, no arguing about that, the xiaomi pictures look serviceable enough if you just want to capture decent personal moments and not do any pro work with it (you'd have a proper dedicated cam for that anyway). Mostly everything else but the cameras to me looks to favor the xiaomi. I'm the sound test at least they sound different but if you're not an audiophile you should be good. Both screens should look great especially if you tweek display color temperatures or modes. Battery and charging speed.... I mean... Not even close. All in all for someone like me that doesn't require a overly good camera, the xiaomi is a clear winner. Just ordered one for the wife and myself today and going its gonna be good, especially soon with miui 14. Though I'm somewhat worried about the software stability. I've used an xiaomi 10t now for 20 months and in the last 2-3 months it's started to act wonky but luckily a factory reset fixes any issues... Still not fun having to do a factory reset every month, month and half. then again used to have an Samsung galaxy s8 and it had even worse and weirder software issues....

Obviously the s22 is a better phone although also more expensive. The Xiaomi 12t is overpriced. At least if they were going to charge this price they should have given 256gb of storage. €600 for 128gb of storage on a phone that basically has only one rear camera (may as well be one as the ultrawide and macro are of too poor quality). Even the main camera sensor is very average. The hm6 is a budget sensor used on phones like the Realme 9 (the regular not even the pro). Probably the worst camera hardware on any phone launched at this price point. I could live with the mickey mouse ultrawide and macro but they should have given a better main camera sensor like the imx766 or gn5 to match the competition. The only real selling point of the 12t is the very fast charging

Finally someone that agrees with me. I''ve been saying this on just about every review, the camera system on this phone is actually hot trash. 200mp is a ridiculous gimmick as the sensor itself is either not that good or xiaomi has just optimized it badly. The other 2 rear cameras like you say are literal garbage and even the selfie camera is sub par. So you have essentially 1 acceptable badly optimised camera on a €600 phone. You would actually be better off taking the processor and charging speed hit and get a nothing phone. In fact almost any older flagship and some upper midrange phones from the last 2 years would beat this phone on cameras.

@@unknownmovement Yes my mum has an s22, good phone but battery is indeed not great. The issue is now that there are very few small phones on the market anymore. I love smaller phones but they have been abandoned by manufacturers. The only recent ones that spring to mind is the Zenfone 9 that is a truly compact phone, the camera is not class leading but still pretty good. If you can forego optical zoom then the other option is regular Pixel 7. I tend to buy pixel phones as I love googles image processing and updates policy and repair programme. I guess it depends on budget too.

Yeah, they probably are. For me personally, this isn't an important spec. I'm a full on headphone user. I don't like sounds coming out of a phone and I almost disable any notification and 3th party sounds. The only thing I still have trouble with are calls, where the proximity sensor disables the screen and stuff.
