6:40 there is visible noise because the actual zoom level on the shorter telephoto lens is 2.6x, not 3.2x. So you're getting slightly cropped/inferior results. I don't know how you didn't pick on that while slowly zooming in

Screen is actually not the same as the 13 pro, hence the difference in battery life maybe. 13 pro uses E6 from samsung, ultra uses C7 from TCL. Disappointed to see such a website as gsmarena not pointing that out

The Ultrawide camera specs on this video are wrong at 04:58. The Ultrawide is NOT 12MP, its 50MP. All cameras on this phone have 50MP sensors. What's "12" on the Ultrawide is the focal length equivalent to full frame sensors in millimeters (12mm).

This is a great phone from Xiaomi. But if you're observant, you'll notice that the 5x zoom camera is pretty much the same as the one on the Mi 11 Ultra, which had similar astigmatism (if that's the right spelling) problems, which made point light sources appear as strips. But aside that, it's a breathtaking flagship. Great review as well. Keep it up!!!!

Wow. HEADS UP TO ALL CONSIDERING THIS PHONE. After 10 months of usage and travel through South America, Canada and Australia take it from someone who is stuck with using it everyday. Look elsewhere. The phone came unboxed but had condensation on inside of lens, camera degraded within a few months and phone is insanely awkward to use. Even as i type this the bluetooth level has mysteriously changed to a topped out max limiter that a Phd and 1 year code cutting literature review woukd be required to crack that code. Yeah... All the smart peeps out there will have an army of fixes and potential work arounds... Just be prepared for the next phase of wierdness to oc ur with some obscure awkward setting. This aint my first rodeo.. Had an awesome huwawei p30 prior and slew of apples. So sorry i paid too much for this thing. Keep looking.... Looks good on paper but i would gladly dump this for lesser phone.

Phone's great and all but still waiting for internationally release. As much as I enjoy watching all this review, not worth the purchase if it isn't available globally as of now. Xiaomi can complain about reviewers addressing nitpicks like MIUI, bad wind noise or bad front cameras, but realistically, there's no global variant and yet they want to focus only the cameras. Phones more than just a camera, Xiaomi. Better get global soon.

After using this for three weeks, I would say this phone is an excellent choice for events where you want to take some nice telephotos but are too lazy to bring a giant camera lens. However, this may not be the best Mi phone for everyday use. The weight of the phone is concentrated on the upper side. I had to rest my index finger on the bottom of the lens module to hold the phone steady. Even though it doesn't smudge the lens, the weird feel always forces me to pick up other "normal" phones for everyday use.

I was worried about this in the beginning but you quickly get used to it. It's useful to get Xiomi's own external case, which provides good grip while preserving the design elements. It also opens up the use of 67" CPL and other lens filters (for an even heavier camera assembly!) if you get a filter ring attachment that's now on the market in China. Now as a photography enthusiast I wouldn't trade carrying this phone around for anything else on the market, even the 14 Pro that I was weighing this against at the store. The pics the 13 Ultra takes are outstanding. So much so I've begun to leave actual Leica M's at home on short trips.

@@dnegel9546 yeah, it seems very rare - I guess because relatively few people shoot in manual mode on their phones. I’d shoot in manual at least 50% of the time. I know the 12S Ultra was good for 30-s exposures (yes, the iPhone can do 30-s, but it also jacks up the ISO at will). and that it had a dedicated Astro mode. Wonder if Xiaomi kept those features.
