Both Xiaomi 14 & 14T Pro actual telephoto is at x2.6 (60mm). U all can go to Xiaomi website FAQ regarding 14. They say 'The Xiaomi 14 rear camera’s zoom ratio is 0.6~60x when taking photos, and 0.6~15x when taking videos, only 0.6x/ 1x/ 2.6x are optical, and others are digital zoom technology.' When at 75mm, the res downsample to 32mp (meaning 8mp upscale to 12.5mp pixel binned mode). However because of the floating lens tech, the hybrid quality got that 'actual' 75mm look. Digital zoom can even achieve up until x60. 14T Pro while using the same telephoto FL, cannot achieve the 75mm 'actual' quality looks because lack of floating lens tech, digital zoom can only maxed out at x30.

I've had the Xiaomi Mi 11 (standard) since December 2021. I love it. The screen is a whopping 6.81". I really want the Xiaomi 14, but I feel gutted that the phone is smaller. The 14 Pro is unattainable where I am, and the 14 Ultra doesn't have e-sim. And now I'm squashing down my feelings and waiting for the Xiaomi 15 to be revealed with the new SD 8 Elite chip 🤩

In EU the Xiaomi 14 512Go is now officially 600€, my choice with quick.USB 3.2 (vs 2.0) and no it doesn't get particularly hot in test (antutu).

I think the big mistake Xiaomi made is pricing these phones around the same price. In the past the price gaps were much wider. This series is now being released around the same price as the regular 14 and 15 regular and pro series. With now similar but not quite as good all-around specs. Makes no sense to me.

It's Black Friday Sales in the UK. I currently have the vanilla 13T. Do you think it's now worth updating to the Xiaomi 14 or get the 14T instead? What matters are slightly better everything from general photos, videos (HDR, accuracy, low light, stabilisation, etc ) and battery life.

Personally, if it was me, I'd wait another year and not upgrade. The gaps between generations aren't massive, and if your 13T is still working great for you, keep hold of it.

@Mateo-ts1xl you can correct me if I'm wrong, but 14t pro can't use tele as macro (what i was mentioned as "telemacro") is because focusing distance telelens on 14t pro are a bit far around 40 cm (and you can't use ultrawide lens too because there's no autofocus on the lens), the only thing you can do to fake a macro shot is by zooming main lens 2x
