Hi, good review.....I am wondering, if its 3.5mm has enough driving power for demanding iems? How is the sound quality comparable to the dac dongles available? thanks

hii, the 3.5mm headphone output is about ok for demanding IEMs, not the best, not the worst, but will struggle to get good volume if the IEMs / Headphones are too demanding. It is much below a good dongle like Lotoo PAW S2, but similar to an entry-level dongle like IKKO ITM02.

@@AudiophileHeaven Your welcome! And I was asking how's the triggers throughout the year? Is it still clicky and all nice like it was new, or did it degrade abit? Because I was thinking to buy Poco F3 GT or BlackShark 4? 🤔

@@Yahabiby100 i used the triggers very little. Still as new, but most games can't use them properly so I rarely take advantage of them

I appreciated a lot this review, thanks for being so honest with your opinions. My ROG 5 killed its wifi chip and I didn't want to get the black shark because of the side-facing speakers (Asus has front-facing) and the "weaker" 870, but now I have a new perspective thanks to your video. I wanted to ask you: what do you think of the newer Black Shark 5 models? Why did you go with the 4 again?

Always happy to help, friend! BS5 is quite over priced, has no headphone jack and genrrally is not much better , no better battery life , just some performance improvement that unless you game, won't be relevant. It's simoy a downgrade for more money sadly 😭

SD 870 is one of the stablest chipset yet until SD 8 Gen 1Plus. It doesn't heat much and doesn't throttle much

TYhe price varies by zone, and by date, right now it is about 500-600 USD for the 256GB version in here, but it may be very differenty in other areas

Thanks for this. I just ordered a Black Shark 4 after watching this. I had an Asus ROG Phone 3 but it was in the bottom of my work bag and I had a leaking water bottle. It was only doused in water for a short amount of time but that was enough to completely kill the display...

Can you set it to 120Hz? Does the low-brightness problem happen then?

You can set it to 90 or 144 or ,60, but it shows 120 in most apps when set to 144. Sadly, the brightness problem does happen 🥲

Do you always use the fast charging brick? Does it severely damage the battery life of the phone?

I am not sure about the damage, but the phone asks rather often for me to recalibrate the battery, to leave it charging for a while, so I can't recommend using the fast power brick every time...

I personally switched to Motorola recently, so their 30 or 40 series is what I would recommend now. I had too many issues with Xiaomi lately to recommend them

I sold it, iwas having a lot of bugs with Waze, signal dropouts and eventually it didn't show me when someone was calling. No idea why, but I didn't want to spend more time with Xiaomi. Also, camera quality was extremely disappointing, I now have a Motorola Edge 40 PRO, had Edge 30 Ultra before, it is what I upgraded to. The thing that got me the most mad about Black Shark 4 was that altough it was supposed to be super smooth and high refresh rate, it always had stutters and lag, which drove me insane

At 11:43 you mentioned that you did extensive research into other phones before deciding to re-purchase the Xiaomi Black Shark 4. I was wondering if you came across the OnePlus 9 and what are your thoughts on that phone. I'm currently buying a new phone and I'm torn between either the Xiaomi Black Shark 4 or the OnePlus 9. Hii, and I'm always happy to help! I read a lot about OnePlus9, the main problems on why I went with BS4 instead are - BS4 has slightly larger display - Faster charge on BS4 (120W max w super charger) - NO 3.5mm jack on OnePlus - I prefer xiaomi firmware, works better in my experience, smoother, less errors.

Yes I purchased a black shark 4, the problem is ,my son broke the screen ,he dropped it, do you think it's worth getting a new screen for $130 and $50 to replace screen or just buy a new one. it's 2 years old or just buy another one. I'm getting a k50 phone now, I hope you do a review on this one. It's supposed to have the best picture , 2k at 3200/1440

Right now nothing really caught my eye . That Sony is super poopy at charging, 30w max , I'm just used to 120w charging from black shark 4, can't go to something a quarter of that speed

My ROG 2 motherboard just melted, I’m not getting another ASUS phone! The black shark 5 pro actually has a better camera than the latest red magic and Asus phones, but I like BS5, still has SD870. But, Red Magic 7 Pro is undoubtedly the best gaming phone in 2022.

870 is the most stable of them, highest overall performance. Higher ones are better but only for short periods of time

BS4 for sure, X4 does not have ldac or 120W charge, the mediatek chipset will be a problem down the line
