Use Nova Launcher and another theme and it is way better. It is actually one of the fastest ui out there tho pretty ugly.

You can root it & use stock Android. Even though it voids the warranty, you're not going to need a warranty anyway as the customer care of Xiaomi sucks. If something goes wrong or if you break Something, you're screwed. Lol just hope that it doesn't happen which usually is the case unless you use it really roughly without protection 👍🏼😎
