Thanks for the review. One thing is interesting here. The P30 Pro had the best camera when it comes for details. No phone (except HTC U11) would be better. But here this Xiaomi offers MUCH MORE details than the P30 pro. You say you can't see the difference except in colours but each of your pics in day light show that there is no comparison between the two : Xiaomi offers much more details in day light. You didn't zoom in low light in your test so we can't say but in day light : no comparison all. Huawei is far behind. I didn't think one day Xiaomi would offer more details. Especially working with Samsung as Samsung are the worst for details when you zoom, you can never zoom with a Galaxy S6, S7, S8, S9 or S10, they are bad for zoom. Here they reached a next level in details. A team compared the pics taken with this Xiaomi to a expensive professional camera and at maximum crop the Xiaomi offers more details that is impressive. To get good details with 1 cm sensor in front of 5 cm sensor it's a good job !

I kind of disagree with your statement that there's not much difference between them when it comes to details. For example, at 2:55 the Mi's Exposure offers much better details -- look at the windows in the middle-left of the photo: the AC machines attached to the building and textures are much more distinguishable in the Mi compared with the P30 Pro. Also, people should not forget that the Mi Note 10 has a Pro version available now, which fixes a somewhat annoying Lens distortion of the original because of its better 8 Piece (8P) Lens system. A better comparison would be between the Mi Note 10 Pro and the P30 Pro.

For those not paying attention, this is not Xiaomi's flagship or top phone but for camera's right now it has the best with the best score from Dxomark.com, The Mi 10 coming out early in 2020 probably February will have 30watt wireless charging, 40watt or higher corded charging, 90hz or higher display, Snapdragon 865, 6-12gb ram with the new 3.1 storage, with a ton of other flagship features. Can't wait to get mine.

Not a big difference indeed. Looks like Xiaomi targeted the P30pro. Even the design is very similar. But i can get a p30 pro right now for 560€. Similar camera, much better cpu, ip67, better ui and wireless charging, doesnt get hot and its not 1cm thick. Also it doesnt take 10 seconds to take those pictures. If Xiaomi was 400€. It would have been a different story.

It's not beuty mode on the front video...When it recognises a face it exposes so your face is the subject it tries to expose to. When you turn away it simply just tries to use a balanced exposure for the whole image hence it darkens because of the bright sky.

Xiaomi are so obviously taking on the P30 Pro with this phone, it has the same camera purpose and literally the same design. It's like Nicki Minaj Vs Cardi B. Xiaomi is doing some trickery on the zoom camera, where the photos are obviously sharpened artificially, but who said that's not allowed? Well done. Still 5x better (pun intended) than Samsung or Apple. Given that those phones currently cost roughly the same (considering the Pro version of the Note 10), I would definitely go with Huawei, because, well... It's a flagship in every way, if not the best 2019 flagship. But, I'll definitely stick with the P30 Pro. I'm waiting for Huawei to introduce some 10x optical madness with the P40 series.

I'm not a big fan of the Samsung sensors compared to Sony. I'm not sure what Huawei is using, but I don't think it's Samsung on the back unless they are doing a lot with image processing. What excites me most about the Mi Note 10 is the 2 telephoto cams (2X and 5X). IMO this is considerably more practical than a wide angle will ever be. I hope the 2 dedicated zoom cameras make their way to the Mi 10 SE.

Mi Note 10 is definitely good but the image processor artificially illuminates the image where by darker zone is lightened but the lighter zone looks like big bang. The mobile companies must understand a basic thing that about 70% of the images taken are in a low and very low light conditions.
