well, the honor 9 is currently £250 and it has a 12mp+20mp b/w sensor, meaning that it has 2x lossless zoom... update: i just refreshed and they legit just now bumped it to £290...........

It's not stupid. It's how a good comparison works. The OnePlus 6 costs half as much as an iPhone X or Galaxy Note 9. Is the build quality better? Need to compare. Is the camera better? Need to compare. Same with the Pocophone. The point is not to tell you if the camera is good or bad at an absolute level, but to show how it goes against a different phone in a different price range. For some people who want a good camera but don't want to spend so much on a flagship, it's necessary to be informed of how limited the Pocophone, or how good it is for its price.

Bryan Nathaniel did check his video already, but he talks only about the unprocessed images and how they look without pixel peeping. But if you zoom on the images mia2 gives you much more detail,other things such as exposures and saturations can be adjusted later on. They are the same people who can't appreciate a lg g6 camera btw.

Almost all Mid-Premium phones use Sony sensor, including Samsung (partial) Because Samsung overwhelmed with the orders. They mixed ISOCELL cam by Samsung & IMX by Sony

Waiting for a proper review... thanks for sharing anyways, I get that it was a quick and dirty overview. I think it needs to get out of the obvious... of course you are going to get a better camera if you pay over 3x the price, but this needs to be compared to other low to mid range phones, not Pixel 2, Galaxy 9, P20 and whatnot. How does it fare against some cheaper Xiaomi phones, or OnePlus, or lower end Moto, LG phones? Seems like it's still a pretty good choice for people with only 300 bucks to spend, even considering only the camera by itself - not the ridiculous flagship specs. And if there is one thing photographers really don't care much about it's stuff like Ai and fake bokeh. I'm not sure why tech blogs and journalists keeps insisting that these features are important for photographers... they generally are not. Same for beauty mode. They might be convenient for some, completely useless for others, but it's down in the bottom of the list of things photographers care about. The questions to be answered there are stuff like: does HDR work well? How's the shutter speed? Did the camera drain too much battery? Do photos look sharp? Is there motion blur? How about focus speed? Etc. One key good information there is that there is no stabilization for the camera... which I'd expect. But the fact that it has manual controls, lens is pretty fast (f/1.9), the overall shots were plenty acceptable, and even low light performance was surprising, tells me Pocophone did good not cheaping out in less obvious areas. And then, the often repeated "it's what you'd expect for a 300 smartphone"... does it translate to reality? Are there any other smartphones in the 300 bucks price point that offers a similar or better camera experience? Just saying it like a mantra did nothing for me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would not expect this type of performance on a 300 bucks smartphone.

For my opinion, base on that video, the camera of pocophone f1 is performing pretty decent. It captures beautiful and colorful images with tons of details. It also captures decent photos in low light environment. I can say that it really worth of having a smartphone that offers alot in a cheap price.

What this phone do is what you paid for... don't expect it to be as good as Note 9, Pixel 2xl or iPhone X, but the camera is quite decent...a nice camera, bright and the selfies on both are good..

Screen brightness is around 500nits and contrast is 1500:1. The screen is actually quite bright and blacks are deep.

I'm a Apple user.. After iPhone 7 I bought this one for me.. It's really nice.. Ah.. for some bright colours.. if you just do the colour test.. sometimes it leaks out from the bottom line.. but it's nothing.. beleive me..You should turn on the Auto brightnes.. so it will do a greatjob with the brightness when you use it outside.. and Really nice for gaming.. nice looking from the front but it's not you can show the backside to others just like nova3i😋.. but better performamce than that.. quick charging😊.. And wow.. the battery life.. 😊And face recognition ... very veryfast just like it's finger sensor.. 😊.. But Sorry to say.. Still iphone 6s can beat this phone in everyway.. But.. This phone can satisfy you than 6S.. Very good signal performance.. And new features... But what I don't like is no panaroma mode in landscape mode.. 😒.. This phone will not get over heated.. but don't play games while it's charging.. And the exterior quality is low.. I Mean the case isn't good.. but not bad...😋.. But for the price it worth.. really really worth.. Better than samsung.. please don't buy samsung.. They are like toys.. But Don't buy Apple if don't have money to purchase things and pay for what you really no need to pay.. but it's okay if you can bring a laptop with your iphone..😋 .. Market is wide.. Huwawei.. This phone is easily a flagship contender, sand or killer. The $300 price range should have nothing to do with the criticism of the Pocophone camera or features etc. The truth is, the F1 has flagship specs and its getting knocked for being a $300 midrange priced phone??! I call total b.s. on this one. If this phone was priced at flagship range, this review would be in love with everything about the Pocophone. These reviewers and consumers are the reason why we get overpriced junk like App!e products and almost no good quality and fair priced, mid range competitors because people just want "expensive" items so they feel better about themselves. It has nothing to do with tech. Its only about price with these type of people or consumers. You really have to pick on this phone, extra critically to find even a mild negative, just like how this video demonstrated. 👎

phocophone f1 is amazing ( unlike poco brand that came out of it) images in portrait are amazing even my friends which have the newest iPhone the selfie also make "beautify" which takes off 10 years from you ;) the AI though i never used it it's useless ... but all other pictures are amazing with Pocophone, i cannot find another phone right now that it broke to replace it

I don't know, I looked at those pictures and I thought they were pretty good for $300 phone. When I had the $300 phone it took pictures that looked straight ass. Like 10 times worse than this. It took like over a second to actually take a picture after I pressed the button. I think overall this is a pretty decent camera for anyone that only has.$300 And wants to get the best for their money. Im gonna stick to my GS9+ though 😁

Still waiting for a real good review of the camera, about lags when taking a picture, if the HDR do any good on auto mode too, etc AI is kind of useless in any phone even the p20pro....anyone I know that have a P20pro or S9+ that want to take an actually good picture turn it off, the only one that I know that have it on is someone that don't really care to take 2 seconds to adjust settings and just want to take out the phone and take fastly 100 picture to keep 1 or none lol Apart from that the really concern for me is the screen brightness at this point....is a problem that I heard in mutliple videos and that yes that if is really as bad as someone say could be a deal breaker. And about comparison It is impossible to compare it with the middle range out of the blue cause the middle range is super filled up with devices and is more reasonable compare it with those 2-3 phone that everybody knows as a standard to compare other phone with, the point is that I would not say "it is not as good as a note 9" oh my god you don't say lol but just how much of a difference there is and if they are comparable in wich situations/conditions and when there is a big big difference or simply when the phone doesn't offer good images. For what I was able to see in this video the picture are better than what I expected to be and if I would give a value on camera performance in wich the Note9/S9+ is a 100% I would personally give this a 85% and in some scenario even totally comparable

not completely untrue. nowadays what you want is as much RAM as you can get, a good screen, lots of fast storage and a good camera. the rest, quite honestly, is all good enough nowadays. i'm using a galaxy s7 edge and i have yet to have any problems running any apps.
