Genuine question, what’s with people’s obsession over having a headphone jack and SD card slot? Both features have been absent in most phones for close to a decade. Storage is cheap and plentiful (unless you’re an iPhone) and headphone jacks are really only necessary if you’re an audiophile. I could understand this argument being made in like 2016, but man it’s 2025. Yall have had a decade to adapt.

I used to buy Xiaomi/Redmi phones as they had great hardware and you could add a google pixel rom on the device, and it was practically the best phone. Now with Hyper OS, they have added so many restrictions for unlocking the boot loader. I am still using Xiaomi 14, I'll put Lineage OS on it soon.

Small detail, but extraordinary that the "People Erase" feature is only on the top model. My Mi 10t lite wasn't the top model four years ago but received that feature in one of the OS updates. Next stop - A fight between the Redmi and the Poco X7?

Thanks for this comparison. Still waiting to find the perfect replacement for my Redmi Note 10 Pro which has a much better Macro (5 MP) which I use a lot and works very well, headphones jack (I'm an audiophile) and 4K video on main camera. It shoots well in low light too....Dolby Atmos also on phone... Unfortunately these three haven't convinced me...

I only bought the (Pro 5G) since its the cheapest (₱14,699, ~$250) that comes with a free (Mi Band 9), other than the Pro+ with that freebie. The regular (14 5G) comes with a free (Mi Band 8) for (₱13,999, ~$240)

Yes, I'd like to know that as well. I contacted Xiaomi UK, who basically told me they only have the 4g model and no information about the release of the 5g. It is for sale on European ebays though.

Glad to hear about the eSim. As far as wireless charging, never had it and when you said cables all the way, for those that dig the wireless charging feature don't you need a wireless charger which needs to be plugged into the wall therefore that's an added expense plus it still wired, or what am I missing? Lastly as I am a Canadian sitting here in Asia for the winter watching these smartphone reviews and have access to device I cannot readily purchase at my local shop back home, I wish you tech channels would add one more segment to the review. Tri-Band or Quad-Band. Or maybe when you say things like Global launch that might be what I'm looking for to be sure it will work on the Networks in North America.

Other than the design and trailers, no upgrades, just one extra year of software support... If youre looking at the 14 pro plus, definitely buy the Xiaomi 14T. Much better cameras and a flat display which is a plus imo. And 4 years of OS updates with 5 years of security patches.

Interesting phones, I was looking for a secondary phone for work, but the xiaomi 14t was on sale and I bought that one. I already installed the hyper os 2.0 with android 15, and so far no problems. The mediatek 8300 processor is decent. I think the software support is also better on the xiaomi 14t. But I like the redmi note 14pro plus, it would be my choice for sure.

I recently bought a used Note 11 Pro Plus. Besides the worn out battery (3000mAh left) which doesn't surprise me that much probably the nicest surprise has been the speakers and music playback via headphones with Dolby Atmos. But the camera. My god is it bad. 108mp. Cool but you need to shot at 50-80 ISO or else instant image quality degradation due to who knows what (it also takes much less time to take a photo at ISO 100 and above which probably means something isn't done right hence the bad result). I assume these later models don't have this problem.

@kodaph 1st, the speaker and the charging port mulfunction. It happened last year. All because of countless drops at my workplace. 2nd, just recent (2 weeks ago) , was the volume button problem. Also because of phone drop. Nothing was wrong with the quality of the phone itself. That's why if I'm about to buy a new phone I'll still pick this model, but of course the newer release version of this model. 🙂🙂🙂
