Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro Review: THE Budget Smartwatch?

the biggest issue with xiaomi smart bands (since series 7) that they abandon these devices soon and don't really care about support. they deliver only 1-2 firmware updates after release and that's all. i thought it might be a good idea to swap my 8 pro to this but i just realized this money grabbing pattern. the band 7 pro still has a few bugs, 8 pro also. i guess they never intended to support these devices and the recent series got updates only because those are made by huami. huami cared a lot more.

I had the Mi Band 7, back in the day. The reason I abandoned the brand is because of the software. This might sound petty, but the fact that you can't choose your units in the Mi Fitness software bugs me. The Zepp app let you choose imperial or metric. Here in the US, we mostly use imperial. Now, converting mi to km, F to C, etc., isn't a super intense calculation, obviously, but it *is* a calculation. It's kind of annoying to me that i'm wearing a computer *on my wrist*, and it's not able to do that calculation for me. That's just lazy software development. If they don't want to make the changes to the Mi Fitness software, they should let you pair the watch with the Zepp app.

@TechMishka thanks for the reply. I don't need GPS on my smartwatch/heath band. So, I'll probably stick with the mi band 9 for most uses and get something like the Oneplus 2r for the occasions when I need a more effective smart watch.

I like some Xiaomi products....but not smartbands and smartwatch . The brand use this " Mac Donald's" and the people buy one at 14:00 and at 17:00 on the same day need buy another, why ? its because the energy ( juice) of the first mac is gone . And with this Business model its easy win money😊.

Well, there is no Redmi Watch 4 Active, so i will say some diferences compared to the Redmi Watch 5 Active. The Redmi Watch 5 Active doesn't have GNSS by itself and doesn't have AOD because it has a LCD display. Heart rate tracking and other things like that are slightly less accurate in the Redmi Watch 5 Active. The Active is cheaper and has a bigger screen (2>1.97 inches). The Redmi Watch 4's battery lasts longer than the 5 active's (when not using GNSS).

Likely she gave you the Chinese version. In the app set the region to China and it will work.
