To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzbin.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

Thanks for the extensive overview but I have a different kind of problem. When charging, my earbuds both show red. After like a minute or two the right one shines solid white as if it was fully charged. When I connect them later on they show up on my phone as 20% charged. Anyone know a fix for that?

Can someone tell me what the difference between the basic 2 and the basic s is? EDIT: I found it, the Basic s are always in "slave mode" which means that one earbud is attached to the other. With the basic 2 however both earbuds are completely independent from one another, so you can use one without the other.

I love Xiaomi products and this would be a no brainer to buy for me. I already have some other Mi products this will pair nicely with. In my country these sell for a bit over $20. For this cheap, I don't think Xiaomi makes a lot of profit on these but they must be awesome

I had heard the trick was to hold button for 10 seconds while in my hand or while in the case but the real trick was to do both at the same time, the REAL real trick was not smashing the charging area while doing this advanced manoeuvre and thankfully i didn't

Despite of a red sticker attached to the earbud, there is also a transparent plastic within 1cm covering it. The light turns red afr removing it.

I didn't record the exact duration of time on how long it can be use but I think 4 hours in a normal usage. Just adjust the volume at least 75% don't go in 100% volume it will drain easily the battery.

My right bud was not functioning for few days, problem was only left side function and right side totally dead/flet no light at all cant even charge. I knew about the reset tricks press and hold few second thing. but the hidden tricks for this model is to press and hold and the same time put it back in the box ( keep pressing until u saw the red light )
