Thanks for the review, thinking about getting these as a backup pair. Not everyone cares about gaming, some ppl just listen to music etc. I think it's still a compelling product for 20 bucks or lower. Or maybe I'll just get another pair of JBL's for like 3x the price.

The first generation of airdots have a better range for the Bluetooth connection than the S and the 2 . The only thing you can't do easy is to use one at a time but you can configure L and R separately.

Hello Mr Groom .. i totally agree with you .. i've had redmi airdots s , airdots basic and QCY T5 .. i think T5 is a much better device overall .. better sound and comparable gaming mode. but both T5 and Airdots s have annoying buzz in left (or right) bud and they drove me nuts .. mu father didnt notice it so i gave T5 to my father and sold airdots .. tried replacements but this buzz was present ..i think these two are using same chipset and this cheapset has this issue i hope you mention it in your videos (you can hear this buzz when there's no music is playing or volume is low)

Hi Kenneth! I know i'm late to the party but let me just start by saying a huge thanks for this video. I recently had my Basic S earbuds broken and I just couldn't find them anywhere anymore so I had no choice but to go for the Basic 2 model. But before I bought them I wanted to check their differences because I already knew that Basic S were the better choice (that's why I bought them in the first place) and I couldn't find anything on Google until I stumbled on your video. Anyway, I haven't received the earbuds yet but after watching your video I'm kinda worried about what you said about the case rattling. Do you think it's possible to use the Basic 2 earbuds with a Basic S case since I never noticed any rattling with this one? I mean they're exactly the same except for the gaming mode so why not?

I'm so confused I bought the airdots 2 1- they have battery indicator with battery percentage when you open the case + red LD on the outside 2- There's no latency like the airdots S so you don't need the gaming mode 3- double tap will skip the song instead of bringing google assistant Did I bought a knock off version ?!

The blue box is the same and everything but, the gaming mode is not working well. I mean, after the tripple tap the latency is still around half to 1 second. It is bluetooth 5.0. Im using realme c3 with mediatek g70 chipset. Probably the chipset of my phone? Latency is a bit lower on my other phone mi a2 lite with bluetooth 4.2 but it has snapdragon 625. Even the QCY T5 (I asked my girlfriend to give it as a gift because of you 😁) is a bit faster with snapdragon phone.

I should have watched your review before buying it. Hopefully I had the BC Master BC-T102 which has a USB-C and doesn't have that issue with the Bluetooth still being connected inside the case, but I will say the Redmi Airdots 2 has more bass and it canceled the ambiant noice way better. Overall as you say you should pass on the Redmi Airdots 2

I just found the channel recently. I have been looking for a nice set of earbuds. Good quality, battery life and low latency are a must. I was looking at the samsung buds+ ( I have a note10+) as I do not have a lot of money to spend. Only problem, is that they have to have a way to hold into my ears. I have a small canal and they keep popping out. That was what had me looking at the buds+. They have the little fins, plus 10+ hours battery life. IS there something you can reccomend?

I am really confused - year ago I bought "Xiaomi Mi Airdots True Wireless Bluetooth v5.0 Basic Earbuds" which were absolutely great in sound quality and bass and battery life, everything. I was so happy about them, I even decided to buy one pair as a gift a month ago. I bought XIAOMI Earbuds Basic 2 - which looked absolutely the same like mine, but oh boy, when we compared the sound quality from both, this last one was a bummer. Very quiet, almost no bass, like playing through a tin can. Which models are similar to "Xiaomi Mi Airdots True Wireless Bluetooth v5.0 Basic Earbuds"? Usually you can buy these things on internet only and there's no way to test it, so what are they comparable to now? Xiaomi Earbus Basic 2 was a disaster try.

I recently bought my Airdots S and I noticed that after pressing the button 3 times after removing it from the case and connecting it to my phone, the sound cue is descending first then after pressing the button thrice again, the sound cue is now ascending. Is the first sound cue activates the gaming mode or is it the second cue?? Please help. I'm confused
